Overall a good time but nut 5 stars.

Overall a good stay. Breakfast was not more than standard. Bathroom was too small. Internet was unreliable. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Hotel was very nice and clean but felt a bit compromised to achieve five stars.

Central hotel with great views
Location, large rooms, great view

Good hotel located in the centre of the city. Easy walking distance from most central activities and 2 streets from the main shopping street and a 15 minute walk from the harbour. Room which have large windows, half of which overlook the harbour are comfortable, clean and a large bathroom with a big tub to soak in . Didn't eat there so can't comment on food.

My stay at the grand hotel was satisfying and the staff that work there do a very good job with customer service I would stay there next time I'm in new Zealand most definately it s great how the bridge connects straight to the gaming room at the casino too thanks very much

Prefer Skycity hotel

i stayed at skycity hotel the 1st day of my holiday and wanted to end my 13 days holiday with a bang by choosing to stay at the grand. i was expecting the grand to be better than the skycity hotel but i was mistaken.
the car park wasn't linked to the grand hotel - so we had to push our luggages from the skycity hotel across the road to get to the grand hotel.
there was an inconsistency with the way car parking was charged as i was given a complimentary ticket at skycity hotel but wasn't given the same treatment at the grand - was charged for car parking.
the gym door wasn't working and i sought assistance - the receptionist got into the lift with me but got caught up helping another guest that he forgot to exit at level 7 - he ended up not turning up at level 7 - didn't think that was good service at all.
the hotel overall was nice and quiet - the decor was beautiful.
i can't say i found the difference that i paid for the 2 hotels to be worthwhile.

This hotel was the last part of my round trip on the north island and I could not have made a better choice. This is a top hotel with a top service. From the moment you will walk in until you leave they will take care of you in a 5 star way. The rooms are spacious, good internet connection, clean and all amenities are there. The hotel is in the middle of the city center and it is very convenient to get to restaurants and to go for shopping. The only thing I did not like was on the last morning before I had to fly back; I decided to have breakfast in the hotel, which was buffet style. When leaving the restaurant and intending to sign the bill the staff asked me from which part of the buffet I had eaten (??) and it turned out that there were several options at different prices and I really think that this should have been told before starting the breakfast. But the rest of the stay was very good and I will without doubt return to this hotel for my next visit.

Great location as it was right next to the Intercity Bus depot, only 2minutes from hotel.
Walking distance from all bars, clubs and restaurants etc.
Breakfast in bed, awesome views from the hotel room.
Safe in the bedroom for extra security.
Waiting staff for room service were extremely pleasant.

Location is not bed, I will staying at Sky city grand hotel when Sky City hotel is full, there have many choice at same location, but this one is a good try absolutely.
