Great location on the Viaduct harbor

Pleasant stay however was disappointed with the allocation of rooms - had senior overseas government people traveling with me and had back facing rooms with absolutely no views. Service needs a bit of a tune up .... rooms not ready until after 3 pm .. then had to go remind the front desk that we needed our bags a 30 minutes later. Apart from that fabulous location near the viaduct harbor and all its bars an restaurants. Rooms were pleasant and the beds super comfortable. Parking is valet parking only so factor that into your budgets as it is an extra. Good international chain however they could do better.

great stay. very pleasant hotel with water front location with vibrant vidact at the door steps. went for dinner there, swam in the pool, used gym, had a coffee and a glass of wine at the restaurant. defenatelly will stay again.
Nightlife Tip:
Go to vidact, very close to the hotel. Nice night life. close to Queen Street shoppings.

Very nice hotel and excellent choice for couples that want to have a relaxed weekend. All rooms are spacious,breakfast is also excellent and i want to mention the faboulous location.
It was one of the best choices we ever made. Definitely will stay again in our next trip to Auckland.

Sofitel Auckland was a memorable hotel with all the extras and comfort of a 5 star hotel. We had an amazing view of the Sky tower and enjoyed New Years Fireworks.

Lovely hotels great location, parking difficult

Me and my husband were staying in Sofitel, we quite like the rooms and the coffee machine availability so we could make our own coffee to our liking.
The downside was the parking has to be valet parking which is not flexible enough for us since we came to Auckland for leisure/holiday, most of the time we go back and forth to our car to put our shopping bags or things we don't need and we find it difficult since the car parking only valet service.
Moreover, the internet service is very expensive and we actually have to walk to find cheaper internet cafe
Shopping Tip:
We went to Dress smart outlet which is 15 minutes away from the city and the outlet has more shops than what people think and usually the prices are quite good too.
