Great staff but a little noisy

I used the Walmsley Lodge for a twelve hour layover in Auckland (arriving at 10pm and departing at 9am the following day). Upon arrival in Auckland I discovered that the only way of getting to the hotel was by taxi with a $30 minimum charge. However, the Tourist Help Desk in the Arrivals Hall called the hotel and a staff member drove to the airport to pick me up. The same individual also took me to the airport the following morning. No charge was made. This was exceptionally helpful and represents really first class service.
The hotel itself was perfectly pleasant. There are two parts - a house and a new addition. I stayed in a nice room in the house with a very comfortable bed and nice linen.
The only problem was that the house was a little noisy with guests tramping up and down the stairs late at night. Apparently there was a wedding party staying at the hotel so perhaps this was a little unlucky.

Lovely clean and comfortable room.
Very clean tidy and well presented, friendly and helpful staff, spacious and well catered for unit.

Clean and tidy room, noisy due to road noise, rooms weren't serviced so no fresh towels and only enough for 2 people although there were 4 of us. And rubbish wasn't cleared.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Close to many local attractions, the airport and local shopping centre.

Lovely lodge with warm and friendly staff
Convenient to city, garden space, bed and breakfast, very accommodating host.

I really enjoyed my time at the lodge due to its location the friendly hosts, sunny warm, breakfast,
Due to the situation near the motorway it is busy during work hour but quiet at other times,
Walking distance to shopping centre, worship places, friendly area.
Buses stop outside the door to airport and city, reasonable rates.
