Proximity to Cathedral Square Furnishing of hotel, noisy teenagers loitering outside hotel lobby at night The only upside of this hotel is that it is located in Cathedral Square within close proximity to the city tram stop, eateries, supermarket and pharmacies. The room was spacious but not luxurious and the furnishing was motel standard. After 9pm, teenagers and hostel students would gather right outside the lobby and chat loudly and we felt generally unsafe going out at night.

Location. Its near shops, restos and transportaion. Beds a bit old and has lost its firmness. However for someone who likes a soft bed, then its okay. I was lucky to have a room facing the Cathedral and so had a nice view. However since its quite near the road, a few drunks can be heard. There are a lot of interesting sites nearby. Oblique to the hotel is a store that also has a pair of Kiwi's, a theater with some interesting features on NZ wildlife. Behind the hotel are many restos and shops.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Location is convenient for sightseeing. The city sightseeing tram begins in front of the hotel.

Perfect Location, big rooms Arrive early morning but room was not available, thus have to wait till noon
Room was huge with 2 dbl beds and a great view overlooking the square. Decent bathroom, in-room amenities were sufficient. But the mattress and pillows are too soft and when u sleep, the whole bed sinks in
Very convenient location to Cathedral square, tourist information and many other shops and dining.

good location right on the square The hotel is in very good location very easy to reach, especially when you from and go to airport the shuttle is in front of the hotel every hour and only $5.-per person. The hotel is right on the square then very convenience to walk around and shopping

If you want to be in the very centre of Christchurch and are not looking for anything resembling luxury (three stars would be generous) then the Camelot Cathedral Square Hotel is for you.
Shopping Tip : The hotel is just a short stroll from the main shopping area and there is a market in the square on Sundays.

Side of Cathedral Square (a very convenient location) have a good view. Room (and bathroom) wide. Have a bad taste in curtains. A little older buildings. BOX security, not the front will be deposited into the wrong response. A few days ago, in spite of the reservation, in front of the cathedral had seen the room. Surely a better view, spacious rooms.
