Good location and hotel cafe Generaly a good hotel if you are looking for an inexpensive and comfortable place to stay. Good location in that it is in the centre of the CBD and close to shops, food and sight seeing. The hotel was clean and tidy. Hotel cafe was very affordable which made hunting for somewhere to enjoy breakfast very easy.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Head over to the arts presinct as it is worth seeing

Is very nice to stay there and the staff is helpful. All the room are new and the restaurant just at in "Ground Floor". Plus you can have your lunch-box and dinner with NZD10-15 in the restaurant Also near by city-hall, just 5 minute walk form the hotel.
Just only small unlike thing. The laundry dryer is not enough warm or hot to dry the clothes in one time.

Hotel Feature Tip : You can shower all the time with the lighting(you can change the light with your feeling) go to stay there and that "you will know what I say".

- Christchurch' main attractions within walking distance - small rooms
- can be noisy The hotel reception and the rooms look nice and modern. We had the disabled room at the fifth floor and we were told that this is the largest room in the hotel. The room size was indeed ok and the room had a window. I had a look in the 'regular' rooms and was happy that we were upgraded as the regular rooms were small and did not have a window. That's ok if you just want a bed to sleep in, but I like to have room for my suitcase and to be able to walk around the bed. I therefore think it is definately worth it to pay more for a larger room.
Shopping Tip : Don't walk in the direction of the centre, but the opposite direction. There are nice boutique shops and second hand stores in the same street. I forgot the name, but is is the large diagonal Street. Very nice neigbourhood!

Location, facilities, price. Hotel So, is a great hotel centrally located and easy to find. The hotel is very modern, clean and has all the new modern day facilities that a traveler would come to expect from a hotel these days. From flat screens to free WIFI and mood lighting in the room, it really has it all and to make it even better "So" doesn't break the bank. We stayed two nights for our Anniversary and the staff could not be more friendly and attentive.
I can not praise "SO" enough, great place to stay.
Hotel Feature Tip : They have a "HAPPY HOUR" in the bar, or it really was two hours from 5pm till 7pm...... just great.

The rooms were very clean,and the hotel had internet access The room was very bright, fine if you are young, also extremely basic, and lacked luxury of any description. Being in our 60's we found the hotel so geared for the teens to 30's, both in attitude and decor. This hotel whilst very clean but lacked the homely feel that an older person might go for. It was fine for one night, but not more than that.We had to have an upgrade because we were unable to get into bed from both sides.
Situated on the ground floor of the hotel was a very good cafe that served very good coffee and breakfasts.

Great staff.
Clean rooms. Rooms are a little small, but was fine for a comfortable night's sleep. Great hotel. I wish they had more of these all over the world! Really cool ambiance, with mood lighting, theme floors, nice music in the reception area, friendly staff. The rooms are great with the mood lighting, the wake up system. The room was a little small, but was just fine for a solo traveler like me. It had all the amenities that I could want.

Interiour is very nice, everything what we need is in the room. Refrigerator, iron and also kettle.
Bar is excellent, wide variety od choices and they sell great local beers.
Door is a bit thin, therefore if someone talks, we can hear it. This hotel is located in the central. Just outside of the main shopping centre. Sol Square is the main square of restaurants and cafes, which is just 5 minutes or less from hotel. I stayed 3 nights, and I was very satisfied. Cafe opens from 6:30 in the morning and opens late. I highly recommend this hotel.
