Great location, good rooms and friendly staff. Group check-ins can cause delays This is a very good choice in CCH because it is close to everything. The main square is just around the corner, the main shopping streets are close at hand and there are some good dining options just down the road adjacent to the river, a very pleasant place to linger over your meal. The Tap Room and Sticky Fingers offer very good food and are reasonably priced.

Hotel is located at a great place. and staff is very cooperative. Double room I got was much smaller than normally available rooms with 2 double beds. Overall the hotel is a good payback of your money for short/overnight stays. Quality of services and whiteware is not bad but can be improved to compete other hotels who provide better services in same price.

location, hotel restaurant small cupboard,not so comfortable bed. We stayed in Ibis for two nights. Receptionist was very friendly. The room was decent enough and the location was very favourable. Easy to get cabs for airports. There is a very good breakfast restaurant in front of the hotel. The hotel restaurant has dance nights at times. The room cupboard is very small.
Restaurant Tip : Drexel breakfast restaurant very well recommended

Good location. Near city centre. With tidy & nice lounge.
The Ibis is a modern style hotel. Also, within 5 mins walk of all places of interest in city center. The staff were helpful.
But we are disappointed that no free parking over night ($20 per car).
And don't forget request room at high lever because there is no view at low floor room.

Hotel is located in very good location. Walking distance to everything. Room size is not that good. Room that not face to street blocked by other building. It makes you feel you're trapped!

location, location, location. The Ibis is a modern style hotel with small rooms but prices are small, also. The hotel is located steps from Cathederal Square from where most tours including the old time tram begin. It is also a two minute walk from the central bus station. For NZD2.80, one can ride on mass transit for 2 hours with hop on hop off. A serendipity was that a Wagamama was nearby! The staff were glad to be of assistance which helped make our visit to an unfamiliar city very pleasant. We were able to walk to the Regent Cinema and saw 'Broken Embraces'. I was surprised that one could purchase wine and coffee and bring the drinks into the theatre while watching the movies. If only we could do this in metro New York.
Restaurant Tip : Wagamama is nearby. Good fresh food at reasonable prices.

Best Location, Opposite to Convenience Stores, 2mins walk to the Cathedral, Right Smack Middle, Lotsa Food Soft Bed (not good for bad-back), Beds too mobile. The location was fabulous & the image of the hotel's exterior was superb. From the 1st look, you could tell that the hotel was very well-maintained. I got the high-floor as requested, plus the room was smoke-free. It was clean & comfortable, except for the bed. It was really soft & i woke up with a bad-back. I will recommened this hotel to everyone, cos of the location. It's less than 5mins walk to EVERYTHING. Very modern looking too :-)
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : It's 2 mins walk to the Cathedral. What else can you ask for? It's very convenient.

Clean, modern rooms with great service Rooms a little crammed, and parking costs $20 per night We were looking for accomodation at the last minute and Ibis was very competitive. The service was great though it was a real disappointment that they supplied no free parking over night ($20 per car).
Restaurant Tip : Close proximity to nice cafe strip on the river around the corner and main shopping area.

Well situated. Clean and acceptable. Very short staffed on reception creating queues for people checking in or out. The Ibis is situated round the corner from the Cathedral Square and near to main tourist area. Rooms were of average size, clean and quite comfortable without being luxurious.

The location is just perfect. Within 5 mins walk of all places of interest in city center. The rooms were clean and functional as one would expect of an Ibis.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Go on a Christchurch Bike tour. It's 2 hours and starts outside Visitor's Center, daily at 2pm.
