The Cotswolds (part of the Scenic Circle Hotel franchise) is a charming delight. Located along Papanui Road, a stones throw away from central Christchurch by foot, it is very convenient to launch your vacation excursions into Middle Earth. It is pricey, however, the rooms are "cottages". They include a large lounge area, a bathroom and bedroom with a comfortable Queen sized double bed in it. You will find all other mod/cons within the cottage as expected. Be aware though, Cable TV offering is rather poor, and there was no 24 hour news channel service. Reception houses an internet station should you require quick access for viewing emails or looking up information. $1 for 10 minutes... you can continue surfing by pumping the machine with coins before the timer runs out. All in all a delightful hotel, conveniently located and comfortable. Don't forget to taste a few of the meals at the Hotels Restaurant and Bar, the lamb is fantastic. Enjoy your stay!
"Rooms" are in-fact spacious and comfortable cottages; Friendly and efficient staff; Unbelievable food from the Hotel Restaurant and Bar; Selection of free teas are available, including milk (Free of charge); Very close to the City centre (a 15 minute walk); A number of busses pass by the hotel which take you directly to centre city - very easy and convenient
Cable channel selection is very limited; No 24 hour news channels (should you want to stay connected); Expensive internet option
