the Avalon is an older building surrounded by gnomes and garden smurfs.
the owners are helpful but the room says that housekeeping does not include washing dishes ?.. first time that has been seen
the building is older and bathroom door needs attention.. but separate to the living area.

Lovely Motel.. our room sleeps 5 people!
Free Carpark and "high speed" Wi-fi

The stay was pleasant. The electric blanket came in really handy and was greatly appreciated in the winter.
Hotel Feature Tip:
The Wi-fi was not "high speed" as promised and signal was intermittent. Keeps dropping out depending on the position you hold the device.
Nice hotel staff welcomes you at the car park. You will also get a free packet of fresh milk upon checking in. Certainly something coffee lovers would appreciate!

Good stop-over option

Although Thames probably won't be a highlight of too many NZ trips, it is fine as a stop over and there are plenty of eating and drinking options on the main stretch. The hotel itself was fine - nothing to get too excited over either positive or negative.

hotel was very easy to locate, just next to the main road entering the town with it's big sign board. further up the road was the tourist information office. there is a nice and affordable thai restaurant along the same road, plus a local supermarket selling fruits, vegetable etc if you wish to self cook.

田舎で日本人はいませんでした。
反対岸のホットウォータービーチや、植物園に行きました。
近くには大型スーパー、ケンタッキー、マクドがあり、カフェもたくさんあります。
モテールなので、気軽に宿泊できます。
