Warm room, comfy beds, nice shampoo and conditioner. Great view. Good food. Loved the lodge and lounge area, especially the hikers on the fireplace! (Which I forgot to get a picture of.)
Not being able to use the hotel computer to check my personal email. Having to go through that area when others were in it, a little invasion of privacy. Not much parking by my room; had to do a bit of hiking from where we parked with luggage.
Overall it was a good experience. Quiet and off the beaten path. There was a staff Christmas party the night we stayed. Not a big deal, but trying to eat dinner in the lodge and hearing the partying up top was a bit distracting. Couldn't access email because by the time the party was over, the computer access was locked up for the night. Great room, though. Plenty of space for personal items. Room stayed warm and toasty throughout the night from the radiator heater. Loved the view of the backpacker accommodation behind us. Very lovely! Good access to the glaciers and shopping, food, etc. along the main street. Thank you!
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : very close to Fox and Franz Josef glaciers which are amazing!
