Fabulous view, with great promise
View, and proximity to wedding venue, which was The Godley

we were so excited about he prospect of staying in such a prime location, but our hearts sank as soon as we opened the door to our room. the decor is tired, and the carpet was shabby and filthy. i filled the jug to make a cup[ of tea, but there were no tea bags, and when i picked up a cup from the shelf, and it had red lipstick/lips imprinted on the rim! only one of the three light bulbs in the bathroom were working, and my husband got an electric shock off the light switch for the bathroom, and also from the heater by the ranch slider door. we reported all of these to reception, and some got fixed, some did not. all in all, a comfortabel stay, but goodness knows what visitors to new zealand who stay there think! thanks

The beautiful warmth from the fire places in the dining area and lounge make The Godley a very homely, welcoming place to relax and enjoy the sparkling views.

very best view if you stay at Lake View room.

it should be the first hotel on your right hand side if you drive from the highway. free parking. if you stay at a lake view room, your room has a slide-open glass door that you can see stunning lake view. Highly suggest to ask for a ground floor room so that when you walk out of your room, there is the lawn to walk on, and direct to the lake side, very nice view. well there's fride in room, heater in room, wifi charges so i didnt use. nothing much fancy about the room.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
close to resturant, supermarket, cafe, star gazing tour booking office and stuff. a good start to walk to lake front.

great hotel located in the centre of lake tekapo

amazing views of lake tekapo are around the corner from this hotel.
We were only passing through for a night but it was all we needed.
Head down to tekapo springs, which is about 1.5 km from this hotel.
Hotel was clean and perfect for a couple passing through.
Not a huge amount to do at lake tekapo except take in the unbelievably spectacular views of lake tekapo! We will surely be back.

this hotel is in a good location and is great to be able to walk to restaurants etc, however the quality of the hotel is not great 2 star max. the shower had the lowest water pressure that i have ever experienced. no cable tv and lighting is average in the rooms. i would not return to this hotel

hotel heater is not so hot. In Sep still feel cold, bed have warmer but still not so warm. Location is quite good, near a japanese resturant, nice Salmon sushi. and can see the takapo lake and churche. very nice view. but staff not so friendly.

Upgrade an additional, and ask a lakeside view room (in the 400 block), and you can have a quiet nice room with panoramic view of Good Shepherd Church and surroundings. Heated bathroom floor, and close to downtown.
