Two things that are important to me are well lighted rooms and bathrooms that have enough space for me to put my toiletries and to hang wet towels after showering. There certainly was enough room for toiletries, but towel bars were lacking.
This motel also used energy efficient flourescent bulbs in all its fixtures. While I applaud the effort I have poor eye sight and I appreciate the brighter incandescent bulbs.
The hotel reception was very helpful in providing storage for our excess baggage when we went hiking for 4 days and stored our valuables in their safe. They also were helpful in getting us to the Ferry from Picton to Wellington.
The rooms were large and the linens and soft furnishings were nice. Even though both nights we stayed we were in rooms at the front of the motel close to the road, we didn't hear any noise.
The only disappointment was the restaurant which served the uninspired kind of home cooked food that a working mum in a hurry might serve.
