Oaks Shores Hotel combines modern architecture with a focus on the use of glass with modern hospitality. Ideally located on the beautiful Lake Wakatipu, this hotel features luxuriously appointed apartment style units and hotel rooms. Each of these spacious apartments and hotel rooms are gorgeously appointed and come with balconies. Accommodation units come in many sizes including one, two, three and four bedroom apartments and hotel rooms. Each room contains under floor heating and double glazed windows to accommodate the different needs of each season. Oaks Shores Hotel is indeed a suitable place to stay.
Please note that a valid photo ID and a credit card is required upon check-in. A credit card security bond (pre-authorisation) of NZD $150 is required on arrival to cover any incidental items including (but not limited to): telephone calls, breakage/damages and excessive cleaning charges above the normal level of cleaning due to the apartment being left in an unacceptable state. Relaxing comfortable with fantastic view
Very large and comfortable rooms, well fitted and equipped kitchen , and wow views of lake and mountain.

Very relaxing and comfortable stay. Snowed in for one day but rewarded by excellent views of snow capped mountains and a strategic placement of a large red yacht on the lake in front of our window.

We were very impressed with the high standard of this room and the stunning views it offered. Everything was clean, well kept and a perfect home away from home setup. When we arrived in our room, the heater was already turned on, which made it very welcoming and cosy. There is plenty of parking, an onsite gym, its 5 minutes drive to the airport and very close to the city. I was so happy to have made this choice, as I found the city centre over crowded and highly populated.

The hotel is located right next to the Lake Wakatipu, overlooking the Deer Park Heights. I booked the 1 Bedroom Lake View Apartment, on the 8th floor, the view from our room is absolutely fantastic. If possible you can try book the highest 9th floor, the view will be more open as for me as a photographer, when I was photographing the milkyway at night, the ceiling at the balcony is a bit in my way shooting the sky. There is a huge wide window in the room too, so that you can relax with a cup of hot tea on the sofa facing the gas modern fireplace and enjoy the beautiful views. The kitchen is fully equipped clean, and modern. There is also a washing machine and a dryer good for longer stay. Electronic heating blanket is a plus in winter. Note there are NO toothbrushes, toothpaste and shower gel provided(only the soap). The only drawback of the hotel is the magnet cards. Both of our cards were invalid the next day, we aware the cards cant be put together with our own credit cards cellphones or so so we put them separately. However they were still dead. We mentioned that when we head back to the reception, the receptionist fixed them right away but still talked about we should put the cards away from our credit cards to avoid this problem. I think the cards can be something for them to improve though. Overall there was a very pleasant staying.

Getting there: Oaks Shores Queenstown is located at 327 - 343 Frankton Road, (State Highway 6A), Queenstown (5km from the airport. 4.0km from the junction of State Highway 6 and 6A). You can either go by bus, taxi or shuttle , which can be organised from the airport.
