Best NZ Hospitality by far
Service, location & local knowledge
10
We had high expectations of this B&B and were not disappointed!! Louise & Rob were excellent hosts & went out of their way to ensure we had the best holiday & stay possible. The room was exceptionally clean & bed most comfortable. The hosts also ensure that you don't leave breakfast ever feeling hungry. I looked forward to 'hospitality' hour every evening. This provided the opportunity to enjoy local wines & chat with other guests & the hosts over individual experiences & recommendations re activities, restaurants, etc. I will certainly recommend this accommodation to family & friends & hope to return again soon!! Be mindful that there is a step hill to walk up/down when travelling into the CBD. Not exactly friendly for older travelers or visitors that injure themselves. A taxi fare will cost between $6-7 NZ dollars for the 300 metre trip.
Restaurant Tip:
botswana butchery - the best steak i have ever eaten!! the dining experience will be expensive, but the service & the food is outstanding. make sure you book a table early, it is a very popular restaurant & one not to be missed!!

Great value for Queenstown
patio and living room (and most rooms) with outstanding views, warm, friendly, great food
9.7
The only downside to this b&b is it's up a steep hill from town but taxis are pretty cheap from downtown - we walked, even upon returning from the 5 day trek at Milford Track, carrying our stuff. We immediately relaxed with friends on the patio with a fabulous view of town and the lake. At 5:30 we were treated to wine and beer and appetizers. Followed by more appetizers! Louise, the owner, and the staff were friendly, helpful, accommodating and fun, and gave us great suggestions for restaurants in town. The following morning they served an outstanding breakfast, including the option of smoked salmon instead of bacon as a side. Eggs Benedict was delectable! Our room was clean, spacious, and bright, with an outstanding view. I was initially concerned that the front window couldn't be opened but we had plenty of fresh air from the side window. I'm not sure about the business use facilities, such as wifi and fax, etc. so I didn't give it an excellent rating for business travel. (Wifi can be tricky to access most everywhere in town, 'tho Patagonia seemed to work best and is free if you purchase chocolate, coffee, ice cream, etc.) This b&b even has laundry facilities 'tho we didn't use them. A little pricier than some places, but with the food included, a very good value!
Restaurant Tip:
Restaurants we liked: @Thai (recommend bluecod dish with lemon), Solero Vino, Fishbone, Bella Cucina, Pier 19 (a little more upscale) - for ice cream, specialty coffee, etc, go to Patagonia and enjoy the wifi also
