Every time an Agoda customer checks out of a hotel we send them an email asking them to write a review of their stay. This is the only way reviews can be submitted. Every review must then be approved by our content team before being posted on the Agoda website. Therefore, unlike many other travel sites, ALL Agoda reviews are certified and genuine.

Quaint wee rooms with a view
Friendly staff, great view, parking and the bar and restaurant
8
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Rydges while in Queenstown. Greeted by a bubbly and friendly receptionist, we then proceeded to find our room. The elevators were spacious and it was easy to find our way around. The room itself was of a reasonable standard, although the bathroom could have been slightly updated. The bed was very comfortable and there were no noisy neightbours which was a delight. We would definitely stay again as it was a 5 minute walk to the town centre, great off-street parking and excellent service overall.

Great value for money hotel
Spectacular view, great position
9
a great hotel to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary! perfect position, amazing view to wake up to every morning! staff always had smiles on their faces. our room was on the 10th floor so we had to catch one lift to the 6th floor (restaurant/bar area) and then walk to another lift to catch that lift up to the 10th floor. meals were great and the bar always had specials/happy hours so didn't feel we always had to go elsewhere. loved it!
Travel tip:
No undercover parking but plenty of spaces available on ground floor (entrance to hotel) plus there was another secure parking lot adjacent to the 7th floor.

7.7
old hotel but great location.
easy to reach from the airport.
friendly staff.
wonderful lake view
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
If you feel confident with driving in left side of the road, get a rental car, you would enjoy Queenstown more. Traffic is not busy so it should be fine for foreign drivers

Bad hotel. No worth for the money
3.3
The building looks grand and nice from outside. Location is good as it is just the lake front, within walking distance to the town. However, the hotel is very old. Design looks old and there's no connecting elevator to the upper floor, which u need to transfer another to another elevator at level6 to level 7 & above. Our room is big, but the worst thing came on the next morning at 5am. There's the squeaky sound of walking on the hardwooden floor above us. It was so noisy until we couldnt sleep. I even have the sounds recorded down. I complaint it to the hotel staff when checking out, the replied was only: we will inform our manager, i m sorry but we couldnt do anything. As we still have to come back for 1 more night stay after 2 days, we have no choice and ask them to put on the highest floor so that we wont hear the squeaky sounds again. The new room given to us was the one with no view at all, and according to the staff they say its the room that we booked. All materials and furniture in that room was very very bad quality, even the face washing basin is made in PVC! This hotel has very poor quality. Pls dont stay.

Convenient to centre of Queenstown
4.3
our room was at the back of the hotel and overlooked a lot of
rubble it was not pleasant view. our room was adequate but
was very average in decor and fittings. not to impressed
Hotel Feature Tip:
Apart from the convenience of being able to walk into Queenstown for shopping and dinning out in the evening, the
hotel needs to be updated. We had to go up to a certain level and get out of the lift walk a fair way down the hallway and get into another lift. Staff doing their job but not very friendly.

small, old and outdated
reception was Ok. location
4.7
room was very small, back to a car park with a bus tuned on for 20 minutes waiting for passenger at 6:30 in the morning. the room was tacky, the bed was so old that I had to ask for a board to be put under the matress, they said they would call when the room was ready, they never did. we asled them to organise a shuttle for us and they said that tehry were quite busy. spa was not working, it seems for a long time.
