Very clean, and spacious room which appeared to be recently refurbished.
Friendly and helpful desk staff. A little too far to walk to restaurants and hotel restaurant can get busy due to large tour groups. Excellent value for money. Room had good internal heating and a view of the lake and was very clean and tidy. Next door to tourist hot spa attraction. Hotel offers a guest laundry. Very quiet. Need to make a booking for the restaurant as it can fill up quickly with large numbers of coach travellers. Approx. 2kms from centre of town.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : It is worth driving approx. 1 hour to Whakatane to experience a visit to White Island, an active marine volcano and drop in to Hells Gate mud baths on the way back.

So close to everything....especially the beautiful lake None that I can think of. The staff are so friendly and obliging. The restaurant is wonderful! The room was clean and well maintained.

Rooms are big very clean and staff are friendly. I would certainly recommend this hotel - it is beside the Lake in the town only a five minutes walk from the action. There is parking so you do not need to drive in the town. The staff seem to be uptodate with what is going on. The restaurant and food was to a high standard. The hotel puts on a Maori night - very good. Reasonable rates, tidy and clean rooms - modern kettle and television/toiletries and sachets abudant. With some investment in modernising the appearance this would augment what is a very good hotel. Ideal for the solo/family and business traveller.

I like only the position of the hotel. the hotel is a motel....the room are not clean and the bathroom was dirty...It is located in a great place but it needs a lot of cleaning modernizations and changes.

We booked for the nightly Maori concert and Hangi which far exceeded our expectations. Both food and entertainment were excellent. We found ourselves the only international guests with the rest of the party being a chartered accountants' conference on their last night. They were friendly and welcoming and we had a good night!
