No lack of food to explore. Sightseeing/Attractions Tip: For our budget and proximity to town (no need to drive around that much, just some walking around to explore), the motel was great value for money. No lack of food to explore. Do check out the Macdonalds there and its airplane themed play-area for families with kids. For drivers, the hotel is very near to Taupo Bungy (less than 5 min drive, if i recall correctly).

Room barely had no space to move around with a queen & one single for 3 adults, fortunately with no luggage rack, otherwise it will be more congested Utensils are old & dented, nevertheless fridge, microwave is in working condition, but not new. Toilet buld had to be replace daily as we stay 3 night. Laundry areas is unkempt & need to spruce up & charges is not cheap either Bed is not made on 2nd day Sightseeing/Attractions Tip: Crater of the moon & Hukka Falls Hot river dip free at Waikato River Hot mud /Tongariro National Park 2 hrs drive away

Groups Australia, July 16, 2012	Great affordable motel, walking distance to town Close to everythin 8.3 Birchlands was a great little budget motel with only 4 rooms, and walking disrance to town and restaurants. The rooms had all we needed, kitchen, fridge, clean bathroom, heater and a tv with plenty of channels. The owner was helpful with day trip advice as well. Would definitely stay here again! Restaurant Tip: Jolly good fellows is a pub/restaurant down the road on lake terrace and definitely worth a look- classic English pub and great food.
