Every time an Agoda customer checks out of a hotel we send them an email asking them to write a review of their stay. This is the only way reviews can be submitted. Every review must then be approved by our content team before being posted on the Agoda website. Therefore, unlike many other travel sites, ALL Agoda reviews are certified and genuine.

Lovely clean hotel but with tiny rooms
8.3
beautiful motel, but very tiny rooms. I don't believe you could comfortably fit 2 people with lugage in here. Ok for business traveller - but more on the expensive side.

good location but small rooms

location is good, we can travel easily anywhere with the hotel location there. the host is friendly & concern about us. but the room is too small as we have 2 luggage to bring in. But it does feel cosy, like home stay.

I'll be back
Fireplace sofas in the bar and the fantastic family of staff

Very friendly welcome everywhere I went, they always had time to smile and chat and I felt more than welcome.
The economy rooms are small but perfectly well fitted.
The bar and restaurant area is very welcoming for a single traveller, giving room to enjoy a glass of wine without feeling like an old soak propping the bar up.
I didn't eat at the restaurant but all of the meals that passed me as I sat in the sofa at the fireside looked divine. Next time I'm eating there.
Hotel Feature Tip:
The bar and the restaurant upstairs. Gorgeous view of lake Taupo, lively bar and fire area to sit with s drink and the food looked fantastic. Why leave the hotel when it's all there.

Great location but tiny room
Clean spacious public area

after signing on we were ignored but staff were friendly later. as previously stated, room size was minimal and the term "shoebox" comes to mind. there were no chairs (or room for even one) and the only way one could watch television was by lying on the bed!
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Good place to use as a centre for trips

great location but room was tiny
7.3
This was a very cute place. Clean and tidy and the best thing about it was the location. Right on the lake front and really close to town (walking distance).
When we turned up and walked into the room we thought that that pictures on the website made the room look way bigger with more facilities like a kitchenette with a fridge, toaster etc.
The room was big enough for a bed and to put our bags down.
Lovely staff. Very welcoming!
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Great stop in the middle of the North Island.

was disappointed that for the price paid, we didn't have any view apart from the neighbouring complex.
good location, and the staff we encountered were friendly.
on the whole - i would not go back, simply because i thought it over priced. have stayed in other
facilities in taupo, for far less and had great views of the lake, closer to town, and equally as nice rooms as caboose.

Reasonably priced and good location
Spa pool was nice and great, friendly staff
6.7
we had booked an economy room but on arrival realised that is was very small. the staff were helpful and offered us the larger room on paying the difference. unfortunately the weather was not great but i imagine the views were pretty good from the restauant. it would have been good to have menus available for the restaurant either in reception or in the rooms. the hotel was nothing speacial but good location for exploring.

Helpfull staff and scenery.

a beautiful building in tipical n.z. style with lots of wood panelling and an amazing wild animal theme. fantastic views over the lake to the mountains,(ask for a lake view, not all rooms have a view).their restaurant is well worth a visit although the area has some great ethnic eateries. make sure that you visit the upstairs bar for the views and ambience.

over priced tiny backpacker style rooms.
no fridge or side tables or wardrode.
the double bed only just fits in the room
tiny ensuite suitable for one person at a time
noisy a/c outside with no ventilation inside
