Nice greeting on arrival. Comfortable room. Restaurant was good with very attentive staff.

At wrong end of The Terrace if you want to be near Parliament/Lampton Quay.

the hotel is positioned on a steep hill overlooking town, and clean, well run, and well priced.

when you are here you know you are in a Mercue, but it could be in any country. bland, bland, bland.

if you want luxury, pampering, or charm, this place is not for you. but it is clean, efficient, and good value, so it suited us just fine. it is perfect for the traveller on a tight budget who wants a good hotel and a good deal.

Easy to find from SH1 Nice, clean room Internet connection

Additional charge for car parking, the car parking was too small for my vehicle.

We stayed at the hotel for only one night while we were in Wellington. We found it very easily off SH1 and checked in without too much problem. Upon check in we were told we had to pay an additional $15 per night charge for the car park, payable when we checked out. The car park was low and tight and as I drive a Toyota Hi-Lux I had no choice but to leave it in a disabled bay. Once we got to the room it was clean and well maintained with TV and internet connection. Checked out in the morning without trouble and went on our way.

Hotel Feature Tip : If you have a choice take a small car such as Honda Jazz or Toyota Yaris. The car park is extremely tight with little room to manouver and very small spaces.
