- bit out of the way up a steep hill
- had problems with my heating
Hotel was quite nice although i had problems with heating. The location was just a bit out of it, not a problem if you're happy to cab around or walk up steep hills

Nice greeting on arrival. Comfortable room. Restaurant was good with very attentive staff.
At wrong end of The Terrace if you want to be near Parliament/Lampton Quay.

the hotel is positioned on a steep hill overlooking town, and clean, well run, and well priced.
when you are here you know you are in a Mercue, but it could be in any country. bland, bland, bland.
if you want luxury, pampering, or charm, this place is not for you. but it is clean, efficient, and good value, so it suited us just fine. it is perfect for the traveller on a tight budget who wants a good hotel and a good deal.
