As backpackers go, this one is good. You get a free dinner at the bar next door, have access to internet and a good, well-equipped kitchen, and the rooms are clean and spacious.

Nice place for a backpacker hostel

Nomads is a great place for backpackers and travelers in search of budget rooms. If I stayed again, I would not stay in the 10-person dormitory. I would go for a private room. Otherwise, the location is fantastic and Nomads is a reputable chain of hostels.

Fine for a Hostel

We were traveling the North Island for sven days and wanted to save money somwehere. This lead to our decision to stay at the Noamds hostel. we had heard great things about Nomads so figured it'd be a good place to try. We booked a ten person dorm room and I wouldn't do it again. Not the hostel's fault, but deinitely something I won't do again. The hostel was just fine four our three day stay. I would recommend to anyone that I know who is looking to save money.

Nomads has a great location around the corner from Cuba st and the Civic center. The hostel is well run, fresh and clean, although a little too scaled down for my taste. The free sample meals on the neighbouring pub are a big bonus, and the staff is very helpful.

The room is nice and confortable but when I checked in, the room was dirty : wet towels, full rubbish bin and bed were not made. I asked the girl at the reception to have the room cleaned. She was surprised it was not made.. At her place I would have been ashamed.. Anyway, only the bed was made and I have to ask for clean towels again. I will never go again there
Nightlife Tip:
Cuba street is very near and it is the best place to have fun

Great hostel with great staff and location

This hostel has great set of staff, location and value. Centrally located to everywhere we wanted to go. Rooms were comfortable and clean. The only complaint is the room we stayed in with bunk beds the bunk beds were very noisy when someone turned and felt less than sturdy. But turned out OK.

Great location and free meal in the evening provided. Good backpacker prices for drinks in the evening.
The only problem is if you get put into a room with rowdy/noisy backpackers, and you will find it hard to sleep as a result due to their constant partying.
Bathrooms and toilets are clean. Washing machine is OK. Dryer is very poor at drying clothes adequately. You'll end up spending at least $3 just to dry a load of washing.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
View from Mount Victoria lookout is well worth the hike up the hill.

Great location but somewhat noisy backpackers

Have stayed in Nomads a few times and it will continue to be my main goto place in Wellington.
Free food in the evening and great location seal the deal for me. With some luck it would be great to get a quiet group of backpackers all in the same room!
