Just OK, nothing special.
Location, but extra charges are outrageous. $30 for parking in a city like Wellington is crazy and confiscatory. Internet charges were also very expensive.

The Rydges was a really nice place to stay with prices which are very affordable.
Shopping Tip:
It is situated in town so only a short walk to find some amazing shops, restaurants, and bars.

A very pleasant hotel conveniently situated within walking distance of Lambton quay, the cable car etc.The reception staff was helpful with onward directions, and the food in the restaurant was lovely, if a little pricey.

This hotel is in a good central location, close to public transport and inner city sites. I would recommend for an overnight stay if flying into or out of Wellington at odd hours. On the downside, my partner & I had planned on having an early night due to flying very early in the morning and were looking forward to sitting back and watching a movie as Rydges advertised having Skye TV. We were bitterly disappointed that this consisted of 4 sports, 2 news and 1 movie channel for the kids. Thinking we must have been doing something wrong the conceirge gentleman told us that was all that was available but we could buy a movie for NZ$22.50. Very disappointed that if you are going to advertise a service, advertise it properly.
Restaurant Tip:
Great restaurants down by the waterfront. Plenty to choose from. Had a fabulous meal.

Great location with fantastic view of the Harbour

We stayed there on our wedding night and the night after and when my husband went to get the key earlier in the day he found they had upgraded us to the executive level which was absolutely awesome. The room was fantastic and to be able to enjoy the view of the harbour after a very full on few weeks was just what we needed. The resteraunt is great to eat in too.
Hotel Feature Tip:
great Harbour View, Close location to shops so you don't need transport, in fact you are very close to the railway station so you could catch a train if you wanted.
