Every time an Agoda customer checks out of a hotel we send them an email asking them to write a review of their stay. This is the only way reviews can be submitted. Every review must then be approved by our content team before being posted on the Agoda website. Therefore, unlike many other travel sites, ALL Agoda reviews are certified and genuine.

Would recommend this unique boutique hotel
1926 Gentlemen's Club beautifully refurbished as a boutique hotel about 1996.

Has a real English, Pall Mall gents club feel about it. Excellent menu, well prepared food. Good service. Pleasantly surprised with an up grade to an Executive Suite. Central to seat of government, shops, business centre, theatres and sporting arena. Quite historic by New Zealand standards.
Hotel Feature Tip:
Five minute walk from Wellington Railway Station. We arrived by quaint NZ Rail from Auckland -slow but super way to see the rural and mountain scenery of the North Island interior.

Great hotel, but it's not a suite
Old-style boutique, in a perfect, quiet location

advertises as a suite. It's not. It's a very nice room, with very comfortable bed, good TV, decent toiletries. Parts of the hotel feel ever so slightly old - which some may like, others not.
Nightlife Tip:
Eat and drink in the wonderfully eclectic Cuba Mall (10mins walk from hotel)

Location central. Hotel far from luxury
5.3
This old hotel seems untidy, even dirty. It doesn;t have modern touch at all. Cold. Heater didn;t work. Woken up at 7am both mornings by some telephone alarm. not a pleasant stay. very expensive too!

Hotel with character
Central, lots of character from history and decor, excellent facilities and restaurant, great service.

Considering the central city setting this is a quiet and restful location with lovely decor and historical features. We were able to walk to everything we wanted to visit. The best way to experience this hotel is without a car as parking is not provided but is closely located at a cost.
Restaurant Tip:
Ortega Fish Shack, near Courtney Place, a good walk away but plenty of city features to enjoy en route.

Old world charm but noisy rooms

On the floor below room 202 is a staff only service area, and being an old building, the noise travels. Every bang and crash could be heard particularly after thy were clearing after an evening function. An early night was not possible

Great old world charm and elegance
Big rooms, geat amenities

Not just limited to this particular property, but staff don't need to ask if everything is OK with a meal. If there is something wrong, I will tell you

Beautiful place, very good service, and very central location mean I will definitely be going back when in Wellington.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Great centrally located hotel in an amazing old heritage building that is a trip back in time. The restaurant is terrific - it was recommended by the hotel staff and didn't disappoint, especially the lamb. Room was beautiful and spacious. Only fault was it was a little warm at night but rectified by opening the window. Terrific staff - very helpful with ideas of what to do and where to go. And the central location is a bonus in a city with such variable weather.
