Every time an Agoda customer checks out of a hotel we send them an email asking them to write a review of their stay. This is the only way reviews can be submitted. Every review must then be approved by our content team before being posted on the Agoda website. Therefore, unlike many other travel sites, ALL Agoda reviews are certified and genuine.

The Wellesley Hotel staff were super friendly and helpful. Hotel is of a past but well looked after, extremely clean and massive rooms.
The bedrooms were very clean and tidy and very spacious. The shower was twice the normal size and the bath a big old one with claw feet.
Two negatives -- the bedside clock wasnt going and I always struggle to get these clock moving. The elevator door is fierce and automatic.
I would stay again and reccomment the Wellesley hotel to others.
Hotel Feature Tip:
Restaurant is very well looked after and the food is delicious

We love staying at this hotel. It has an old world charm about it. The staff are friendly and helpful. The location is great , central but not noisy. The rooms are a good size. We look forward to our next stay there.

Great hotel - like stepping back in time

We took a mid-week break and stayed in a Classic Suite. It was a beautiful grand old hotel with modern features. It's right in the heart of the CBD but you could not hear any traffic. The best touch in our opinion was the book in our room documenting the history of the hotel.

Beautifully themed and well located

We found our stay at the Wellesley Boutique Hotel to be very relaxing and enjoyable. The room was nicely decorated and very well furnished. There were a couple of beautiful chairs which were a welcome comfort after exploring the city on foot all day. The hotel is located centrally and is very close to parliament. Everything was great in terms of service and the whole stay was very enjoyable. My wife and I would definitely recommend this hotel if you're going to be spending most of your time in the City.
Restaurant Tip:
Not far from the Wellesley is a great bar/restaurant - 'Avida Bar and restaurant'. The food was great, the prices weren't rediculous and the service was fantastic. We even tipped our waitress which we have never done before (tipping is not a custom in NZ like it is in the USA).

Charming, characterful and friendly Hotel
Ambience, period features, incredibly friendly and helpful staff

stayed to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. the staff helped me to arrange several surprises for my wife; going out of their way to obtain chocolates, flowers and special wine with no extra service charge. they genuinely wanted to see us have fun!
one small downside - there were noisy pigeons nesting outside our bedroom window and they were 'cooing' loud enough to wake us up at times! 'evidence' suggests that they have been nesting there a long time...
the food in the restaurant was first class; the waiting staff being efficient and unobtrusive.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Te Papa is a 'must see'.

The staff bent backwards to help us not only with hotel matters but in visiting Wellington. They were enthusiastic about their town! The little luxuries in the rooms were lovely
