nice hotel in quiet neighbourhood

well known to taxi drivers, good internet, large range of foods at buffet breakfast
7.3
Reception staff here are friendly and helpful. I had a few problems with electrical issues in the room, which were dealt with quickly and effectively. The hotel is in a location that is close to Chinatown area and the markets. However, it is not inside the CBD of Yangon, where most of the other hotels are located. This is an advantage or a disadvantage, depending on how you view your leisure time. Taxis to CBD from the hotel cost 2500 kyat, a little over $3. The restaurant staff were not as attentive as they could be. Although there were very few customers when I ate there, they were in no hurry to clear away, even when it was obvious that the meal was finished and you were ready to pay.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip: From the hotel, it is only a short walk to the Peoples' Park and Shwedigon Pagoda, the jewel in the crown of the city. If you are on an organised tour you will surely be taken to the pagoda. However, a stroll through the park is a good use of a spare hour.

Rather grim locatoin, but hotel was fine

Clean rooms, good shower, helpful staff

Location was not great but this didn't really bother us. Everything went smoothly. Breakfast was disappointing.
Restaurant Tip: The YKKO restaurant at the end of the adjacent road (5 minutes walk) was good.

Lovely hotel and service with a smile

free wifi, good service, fast response to requests

Generally very good and location is close to the event that I was involved in. This is the place if you just need a place to stay and sleep after a long day. However it lacks facilities like a gym or spa or swimming pool (good if they could add these)
Shopping Tip: The Bogyoke Aung San market is close by.

Lovely nice hotel for business

small and charming place to stay

It was better this time due to improved management. The bathroom setting is still below the standard and some old toilet facilities should be replaced with the new ones.
Hotel Feature Tip: quite a reasonable breakfast and cute room with plenty supply of drinking water and caffee

OK hotel and good service

quiet area compared to downtown

As usual with Yangon all the hotels are often booked up and/or over priced. The Panda hotel was mid range but the room I was in was very large with good views of the city and river. The room had a separate living area and bedroom so I really had no complaints at all regarding comfort. You will normally need to grab a taxi from the hotel to reach the city center or other sights unless you are feeling athletic or in need of a 30 minute walk (and a few dodgy road crossings). Staff were also very friendly and spoke good English.
Travel tip: Taxi drivers appear pretty decent honest folk in Yangon. 2,000 Kyat is the flat rate to the city centre from the Panda but if you are grabbing a taxi back again from a more expensive hotel such as Traders, some will try and add on an extra 1,000. Feel free to haggle and the concierge's will often get involved to help. Taxi's from the airport are about 8,000 Kyat and around 5,000 going back.

the hotel is good and price is affortable compara with other downtown hotel. room is clean and without mosquito which is big surprise to us. because the window is locked. only one matter make us unhappy, for usd exchange. 1.after get some changes of usd from counter, but some usd looks old and can not payment for hotel's expense. 2. small usd's exchange is lower than big usd money which can not accept.
Restaurant Tip: good chinese flavor

Friendly and helpful staff, clean room. When we need to leave the hotel for an early trip before the restaurant opens for breakfast, they are willing to pack us a breafast box. Though it's just bread, an egg and a banana, but they're enthusiastic to help and inform us in advance what they could do for us.The bathroom shower might be a little old but clean.

Very simple and a bit dated hotel in 60s style

on a quiet street

The hotel is like so many on Myanmar in this price category. You get the basics of hot water, air conditioning, TV, mini bar. However the standard is well below fro what you expect in other parts of the world. The general condition of the room is acceptable with furnishings being on the cheap side of cheap. The staff were helpful and the breakfast was plain but acceptable.
