Good location, near by supermarket and restaurants. But internet access quite slow.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip: Yes it is a good choice for you if you can pay around 100 USD. Per night

you arrive and you now enter the 1970's your greeted with a juice book and checked in all to the sound of the vontrap family. your room is clean and comfortable with even a sewing kit as a givaway. the dinning room well vynle is in the god fathers theme quietly playing in the background this will be and is the best hotel we have stayed in whilst in burma the staff is the hotel do not judge the hotel by its cover
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip: tip open lonley plant book and go have fun

Panda rates now at the same for similar category hotels in Yangon. Have stayed here numerous times and would repeat even if rates increased again. What was largely the domain of business travellers (PRC mostly) some tour groups have appeared. They seem kind of out of place in the non-descript and dated Panda, especially that its location from points of interest is a bit beyond their mid-aged, overweight and out-of-shape walking capabilities. A good thing about this Hotel is that it is kept up with fresh-paint, an improved breakfast and is clean, with spacious rooms. Management seems to care. Negative thing is Chinese clientele who act like they're in a dormitory with room doors open, going in and out of others at all hours, talking loud, and of course smoking everywhere.
Restaurant Tip: several nearby are amongst best options in Central Yangon.

Fit for the Purpose

Close to work and the city centre. Good breakfast. Close to attractions. Quiet. Close to restaurants.

i stayed in this hotel for almost seven weeks while working near a unversity campus on pyai road. the rooms are large and adequate to do work in. they are equipped with a bar fridge and cable television (with hbo). staff are friendly and efficient in carrying out their duties. there are plenty of restaurants near by. the best is padonmar, roughly 15 minutes walk. there are also two shopping malls one tot the north and one tothe south, all of which have eateries. close to the hotel however are ykko, new doreen and a chinese restaurant so there is no problem of finding something to eat.
Restaurant Tip: In the centre of the city are three eateries. In sight of Traders Hotel and down from Scott Market is the Red Rose (Thai) Restaurant. Has a great range of Thai dishes for reasonable prices. Around the corner from Traders is Nila Biryani which is great for biryani and falooda. At the back of Scott Market is a Shan restaurant open only during the day which has excellent dumplings. For the best coffee go to Zawgyi House -Gourmand Restaurant at Scott Market

Great location and nice service

Not far from everything

they have a money exchange service at a lower rate than that of the bank's, but if you want to exchange a lot of money, take a taxi for 1200 kyts to summit...hotel. they have two money exchange agents who offer a better rate than bank's, (not at the hotel counter).

Good service

Great location

It's close to the market. Going to China town will cost only 1,2oo kyts. Very close to National museum as well. The price might be expensive compared to those in Bkk, but good value in Yangon.

Great service and good, clean rooms

The staff are friendly, service-minded and English-speaking; the rooms spacious and fresh. Comfortable hotel

Downtown and central but not a neighbourhood to walk around in; recommended for those looking for a well-functioning, well-organized, clean and quiet place to stay at.

i've stayed at the same hotel every time i've visited myanmar. this trip like most other hotels in myanmar, room rates have more than tripled and nothing extra to show for.i usually travel to malaysia after my myanmar trip and usually stay at the park royal hotel which has more facilities like gym , swimming pool and excellent breakfast.and now panda hotel cost the same but not a 5 star hotel.

Fine but not fantastic

Good buffet breakfast, central location

The Panda and many of the other hotels we looked at was alright but overpriced considering Burma's distinctly 3rd world status. The staff were helpful, the rooms clean, but they were of a standard that you would pay half as much for in Bangkok. The hotel is in a central location, but having said that, it is a long walk to the nearest attractions. They always have taxis on hand to help out. Our review is a reflection on Burma in general - underdeveloped but with prices you would pay in a more developed setting. We would return to Thailand, Lao, or Malaysia before another visit to Burma. We use Burma intentionally after learning on out trip about the exclusionary meaning of Myanmar. One final warning, bring clean new US $ bills, few ATM's and we struggled to use some money the had a few stray pen marks. Also, bring 100 dollar bills, the exchange rate is lower on smaller denominations.
