Shame about the food

Amazing view of the lake, nice rooms, very friendly staff
Inle is a fascinating place but to get ANYWHERE other than the hotel you need to take a boat/river taxi, which can make you feel a bit trapped in the hotel - if the weather isn't great, you might feel even more trapped! It wouldn't matter as much though, if the food here was acceptable - and it really isn't. It's very expensive by Myanmar standards, and the food is uniformly bad - to get out for dinner means a 12000 kyat boat each way (about UK£6 - so £12 return) into town, and they stop running at sundown (around 6pm in Oct/Nov). The hotel rooms are lovely though and the staff really friendly and helpful. You might find it noisier than expected here - the fishermen and boatmen on the lake all have loud outboard motors, and they start work REAL early.

Romantic hotel on water, but lack of facilities

Quiet, romantic with water around, good dishes
Lack of facilities: no TV, no fridge, no air conditioner. However, the temparature of the lake is cool, so the sleep at night was OK. Friendly staff, even only one room was used

Bad service and really bad food!

Location is good (east side to watch sundown)
Overall it was not value for money. The regular Burmese hospitality was absolutely missing and the food in the restaurant was not good and also overpriced (3$ for a soda!!).

location, location location
Our room had a rodent that on the lat night got into my bag and ate a bag of peanuts I had bought at the market that day. I noted that it had chewed a hole in the bamboo wall to get in and out and during the night I could hear it in the wall. I informed the staff and they did not care and said they would look into it . I have written the hotel management and sent pictures and NEVER received a reply. This property should be removed from you list

Nice hotel on the lake

great view, spacious rooms and individual huts
The hotel was impressive from the first time we set our eyes on it.There was a very warm welcome with traditional drums as our boat approach the hotel. The hotel complex was big and alot of rooms, each room is a hut itself. The scenery around is fantastic and you can catch great views of the sunset and sun rise from the comfort of the room. The rooms are very clean and spacious especially the bathroom. The small balcony is a added bonus and you can enjoy the lake view with a cup of coffee.Only issue is that the hotel is abit old and limited food choices. But overall a great experience.

sunset view, friendly staff
We arrived at the hotel early in the morning, which was freezing cold, and got checked into the room almost immediately. It was very understanding of the staff and this gesture is very much appreciated! :) However, the rooms have no heating/air-conditioning systems. So it was freezing cold at night and we could only rely on the blankets. In the afternoon it was quite warm in the room. This could be improved, I felt. The sunset view is nice, the houses on stilts look nicer than to stay in. Overall, we felt that the hotel is very overpriced for the kind of room we are paying for.

One night is enough

Handy location to visit the attractions on the southern end.
We were caught out as the booking defaulted to a price for single occupancy so we were up for an additional $90US for a second person for 3 nights. As all we got for this was a cheap breakfast it was a bit disappointing. It was also a surprise to find that the resort is in the lake (not beside the lake) and once you arrive you cannot do anything or eat anywhere else without taking a boat. Lovely location for 1-2 nights.
