About Paradise Road - Tintagel Colombo Hotel

Description

Paradise Road - Tintagel Colombo Hotel is Colombo’s foremost luxury hotel, situated in the heart of the city’s most elite neighborhood. Offering 10 unique suites with all modern amenities and services, the property is housed in a stunning heritage structure of national importance that was previously home to three of the Sri Lanka’s political leaders. Paradise Road - Tintagel Colombo Hotel’s 10 suites have high ceilings, timber floors, and are luxuriously decorated, each in its unique combination of color, texture, and atmosphere. A stunning lap pool on the Ground Floor and private gym on the First with a treadmill, cross trainer and free weights, and steam room, Paradise Road - Tintagel Colombo Hotel is a haven to return to for those business travelers at the end of the day. A massage room with a deluxe bed is available for special treatments, or if preferred, treatments may be provided in the privacy of the guest’s suite. THE RED BAR is nothing short of stunning. Blood red lacquer and polished cement finished walls frame this room, where an antique gilded Parisian mirror provides an impressive backdrop. A privileged few can lounge in this hip space on black leather upholstered chairs at bronze tables. Come for a private meeting, romantic tête-à-tête, or just for an unaccompanied nightcap.

Almost exceptional
Stunning renovation and decor. Wonderful rooms. Very good location. Gracious and exceptionally helpful staff. Some things lacking compared to a true luxury boutique hotel - toiletries are subpar, not much anticipation of guest requirements (e.g. we left for airport before breakfast, and while the staff had mentioned we would receive a packed breakfast to eat on the way it was not done). When we did have breakfast one morning it was nothing special - and definitely an uninspired spread. Will definitely visit again but hope Tintagel can bring itself up to its true potential.

Perfect stay for one night
Paradise Road hotel is stylish and comfortable, although a little worn around the edges. We had a beautiful meal there so I would highly recommend the restaurant. A word of warning - the pool area has lots of loose tiles and my baby got a few cuts on her feet from the jagged edges. We also saw a big nail sticking up from the ground (right hand side of pool). Otherwise we had a great stay.

A nugget of history
Food, staff service and cleanliness
Whilst the stay was very comfortable and the service superlative, my aged father of 90 was not at all comfortable with the dark colours and the interior design of the hotel. The building is a heritage one but the modern decor in shades of black beige and dark browns lent a very gloomy and dark feel to everything. Whilst the staff were really helpful and attentive, the overall lack of light in the suite was uncomfortable, especially for an elderly person. We did though thoroughly enjoy our Christmas dinner and are grateful for the services provided.

Highly recommended
1.) hotel decoration 2.) service 3.) foods
We really did enjoy our stay at the hotel. Love love love the decoration and the size of the hotel which is not big like other commercial or branded hotels. Exquisite unique design, comfortable bed, and friendly staffs would definitely bring us back here again the next time we visit Colombo. The hotel only have 10 rooms which is great as it is more private and less busy. Good for travelers that hate the commercial type hotel. We would strongly recommend this hotel to our friends.
