As far as I am concern, I was totally disappointed. There was no charging socket in my room and I asked for an assistant, but nobody came to me despite several phone calls.

Not enjoyable at all. The TV was old and there was no free view channels. I have not seen that type of TV in the last 10 years in an Hotel. I am not satisfied at all. I wanted to complain to you before I saw your feed back. Thanks.

You become a little part of history

Fascinating history that you feel part of sleeping in a 'cabin' room homeless migrant workers used to rent in the early 1900's. Enormous place with original features and very long corridors!
6.3
It's not in the best of places situated a short taxi ride (£5) from the shopping areas but it is a fascinating place! You really do feel part of history as the rooms don't appear to have changed much since 1903. It does need updating which the hotel owners are doing room by room but this place is enormous so could take a while. Grade 2 listed, Gothic Edwardian architecture it's well worth a read about. Rowton House built by philanthropist Lord Rowton. I don't think the hoteliers make enough of the history. For the price it's perfectly adequate but don't go expecting any luxury. It's basic but clean. And if you're into history this will override any negatives. It's quite spooky with its long corridors but the staff insist it's not haunted! Not ideal if you're sensitive to noise because you can hear pretty much everything. I'd love to see this place thriving it's so interesting but I wouldn't go if I was holidaying. I was there on business on a very tight budget and it did me fine.
