Unfreindly staff the reception !!

The bed
I booked this due to the fact of the rating you gave and paid in full. After arriving at the parasol hotel I was only disappointed, after numerous emails, no resolve from you saying how bad this hotel was .

A cute hotel in a great location!

location, staff, decorations
Normally, things look better online than in person but Parasol Inn proved to be the opposite! It's really close to the airport (~10 min taxi ride) but seemed like a world away. It's also right in the middle of old city and is seconds away from temples, ~10 min walk away from the markets, and ~30 min walk from the night bizarre (we got lost so it may take less time). When we first got in, the man at the front desk was quick greet us with a smile, give us our keys, two maps, cookies, and directions to a street full of restaurants for dinner! He also marked the best places to see on the map and helped people that had heavy bags! The room was bigger than expected and everything worked perfectly. For those bringing things that need to be charged, they have Type A sockets (N. America/China). They do use 220V so those from N. America will need a voltage converter (unless you have a plug that has that built in). My friend and I only found two plugs, but we didn't look very hard. The decorations in our room were beautiful (I believe we were in 405). We loved the elephants that sat on the beds. I had hoped to get one just like it, but I couldn't find the same one (there were some in shops that were a different size or material). The restaurant for the included set breakfast was good. The staff in the hotel were also helpful when we were looking at excursions. Definitely go to the temple on the mountain with the village! There is a coffee shop in the village that has great coffee with an amazing view and a beautiful garden. We also found this amazing place for massages ~5 min from the hotel on the street right before the police station (on the left). It has a big blue sign that says massage. The prices were cheaper and the massages were great! The hotel is in a great location and the service is excellent! We're already planning to go back! FYI, don't expect a toothbrush or toothpaste in the rooms. They do provide two free bottles of water daily and great free Wi-Fi, though!

Best location in the old city

Location, customed decoration
The well decorated room tells its own culture related story individually. The room is clean and big enough for all my luggages. However unfortunately, my room was nearby the street which forced me to use my ear plugs in order to get some sleep. Despite the noises, it's still a very good place to stay. Most importantly, it located in the best place in the old city, closed to almost all attractions.

Parasol inn, old city chiang mai

Location, location, location
The hotel is clean, staff are pleasant but the restaurant is heinously slow and included breakfast a poor value compared to what we've experienced everyace else in Thailand. The main issue is that there is Zero sound insulation which means not great for light sleepers. Staff and guests in hall early in the mornings and people moving about in rooms above below and to the sides: every sound is amplified in this tiled building. No elevator but that didn't bother me. I think there is much better value for the same money within the old city and around the outside walls. Maybe if they had a pool or access to one I would consider the price more appropriate. Lastly, our room had no window. The bathroom had a window. Had we known, we probably wouldn't have booked here. On the bright side the staff is very helpful and friendly, the hotel is sparkling clean and does have a quirky pleasant vibe.
