Great hotel with a fantastic location

Hospitable and friendly staff, great location and comfortable bed
My partner and I really enjoyed our stay at Park8 hotel. The location is fantastic.. So close to Hyde Park, QVB, Darling Harbour and Westfield Centrepoint. The staff were exceptional. We would highly recommend this hotel.

Nice & Simple

Location, Room Size, King Bed
We needed a layover night between our cruise and long flight back home, so this promised to fill the bill. We were lucky to get a room upgrade upon arrival, on a Sunday, and allowed to check-in early at no extra cost, being welcomed by a very friendly and helpful receptionist . . . which we needed as very exhausted. Sleeping was a challenge due to our (single-pane) window overlooking a busy City street and the traffic noise was constant. That aside the bed was comfy and room was better than the average "shoe-box". Bathroom was roomy although noisy with the fan and air-con running, plus the unfiltered air vent showed views of the plumbing etc. inside the roof space (perhaps a privacy concern if cameras hidden there). The next morning we were expecting a routine maintenance visit so felt the need to leave the room early. We were granted a later check-out and upon return to the room found dust and dirt following the maintenance work. After check-out we were able to leave our bags for safekeeping for a couple of hours until needing our taxi to the airport, so all-in-all the ups and downs evened out and the service we received in a very convenient central location was good value. Next time we would consider going there again but also request an off street room . . .

four stars. but, needs housekeeping

good hotel. cute coffee bar in the lobby. really close to Central Station.
good hotel. cute coffee bar in the lobby. really close to Central Station. but, not very clean. the shower had mould at the edges. I will only tolerate mould when a brewery is staging my beer.

At the Heart of Sydney CBD

Location, Cleanliness, Free WiFi
It was a great stay. Location was very central - meaning not only in the heart of Sydney CBD but also accessibility to subway stations (the closest was Town Hall and a little bit further was Museum). Since the hotel was located nearby these two stations, thus I could travel to anywhere easily. Room and bathroom was clean, the bed was comfortable, lots of power outlets for my multiple devices, safety box, and decent selection of bathroom toiletries (usually the shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, and body lotion smell and quality weren't good with other hotels with the same class). Another plus point was unlimited free wifi for multiple devices. Connection in general was good, although I experienced a super slow connection in one of the evenings. Staffs were great too, even though I didn't interact much. They were friendly but still respect guests’ privacy. I had to also give an acknowledgment to the receptionist who helped checking me in. He offered me an upgrade for a view since he pay attention to the details that I put in during reservation that I love a room with a view. Although it costs me a bit more, but it is rare to meet the staff that pay attention to customers' details/needs; therefore, I had no second thought of an upgrade. One last thing, I love this hotel for letting me in early. I checked in at 9am and I was able to enter my room right away. Very rare service and I gave a huge praise for that.

Good but a bit too pricey.

Location. Shower. Bed.
Originally booked a room which turned out to be a "tiny box" with no windows, so small that the door smashed into the bed when entering or exiting the room. After upgrading for it was a different story and we had an enjoyable stay.

Extremeley helpful front desk staff

Front counter staff, position, price
I asked the guy at the front desk on the first evening I arrived if he knew where a certain store was and after I had a shower he had googled and printed out maps for the 3 closest. Then when leaving the next morning a different guy at the front desk offered to mind our bags while we went shopping so we could pick them up later. They were both extremely helpful and forthcoming with assistance.

good location but extremely noisy

Unbeatable location. Good value. Clean rooms
The location is unbeatable but being at a cross junction, it is extremely noisy. In addition to that, the room I stayed in (204), the windows are not sealed properly and noise filters through rather badly. With a loc ation facing the street, perhaps the management can consider installing double glaze windows to minimize traffic noise.
