3 days in the City Bowl

Breakfast, Friendly Staff, Movie Channel
The Parliament Hotel was in a good location, 10 minutes walk from Long Street and 15 minutes taxi ride to the Water Front (around R60 cab fare). We also used the Uber app twice from the hotel using their wifi. The breakfast did a great job of meeting our vegetarian needs. The room was clean and basic. The 2nd night we did not have any hot water but this can be typical for South Africa. Even though we were not in the room a lot we enjoyed the Comedy Movie channel, with movies we had never heard of but with great actors.

A week at Parliament Hotel

Staff, service, breakfast
Had a fantastic week at Parliament - the included breakfast was a nice way to start each day and the staff were friendly, helping us to arrange the itinerary we wanted and with some extra suggestions that were spot-on. Room was a little old, but spotless and charming in its own way. Close to downtown and the District Six museum. Great Italian restaurant next door. Will stay here again on my next visit.

Great place if you're on a budget

The staff were amazing, so friendly and informative. Big tv in the room. Aircon worked great.
Our stay was very good. If you're looking for somewhere that's not going to break the bank but is comfortable and spacious but just a bit basic then this is the place.

Everything was great except...

good breakfast, helpful staff, clean, modern room
The hotel and staff were very nice. There was only one problem and that had to do with the shower... The water would NEVER remain at the same temperature. You could not set the temperature and it would stay that way. The perfectly set temperature would soon change to very hot... you try to adjust it... it's right for a minute or two, then it would get very cold... you would keep fiddling with it but could never get the water to stay at your desired temperature. Everything else about the hotel was great.

Cheap and cheerful

Location, economical, service
We had a very good stay at The Parliament a Hotel. It is conveniently located and an economic option. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Excellent shower! 'The Cousins' restaurant next door was also very good. There was no refrigerator in the room.

Great value for a couple checking out Cape Town

Staff, location, value
Great staff and location safe. Breakfast was great and room clean and quite. Walking distance to long street via busy streets and slave museum nearby. If your looking for an affordable place to stay in Cape Town this is it. Will definitely stay again the next time we are back.

Everything you need

The staff were very friendly and professional. Greeted and were very attentive. The location was great - right in the middle of town!
I can't say enough good things about Parliament Hotel. It's got everything you need - great location, friendly and helpful staff, comfortable bed, clean rooms, and all your basic amenities. The breakfast was also a plus. My only wish is that the lift would go all the way to the lobby - had a lot of luggage with me as I was relocating and passing through Cape Town, but then the staff was very gracious and helped me with everything. It was a short stay but I would come back again!!
