close to Yeongdeungpo Station, lots of restaurants in the area, lots of bars/drinking places in the area
My stay at the Petra Hotel was OK. I was glad to be able to check in at 2:00PM. A lot of these "love hotels" will not allow guests to check in for an overnight stay until at least 10:00PM. They charge per "four-hour shifts" before 10:00PM. So, if I was to check in at 2:00PM - if I had just walked around and inquired within - I would have probably had to pay for TWO of these "four hour blocks" - in addition to my normal overnight fee. So, I was able to check in at 2:00PM - and check out at noon the next day - for just 70,000 Won. I was not expecting a lot from this hotel - from my experience having lived in South Korea for about ten years. This is just a place to sleep. The room really smelled of smoke. I asked for a "NON-smoking room" - and found they do NOT exist at this hotel. Opened the window and was able to withstand the smell. If you are really sensitive to cigarette smoke smell - I would recommend you do NOT stay at this hotel. The bathroom was really dark - only one small light bulb worked - two other bulbs were missing. I was able to stream my favorite sports website programs from the computer to the big screen TV - so I liked that aspect. All in all - not a bad place to stay for me. I was coming from out of town and the location was great for me - as I took the train to Yeongdeungpo Station - and the Petra Hotel is only a five minute walk down the street. Plus, Singil Station is not far away either - about a five or ten minute walk. Lots of restaurants and drinking places in this area - although I met friends and we went to Hong-dae and Jongro. Home late and had a pretty decent sleep. Room was a little warm - never tried to turn on the air conditioner - just opened the window and things cooled off. Window opened to the main street - but noise was not a problem. Window covers are full wood - so once closed the room gets really dark - great for sleeping in. ^-^

easy to approach from yeong deongpo station

market, station, eatery
Reasonable hotel fee and very easy to approach yeoung deongpo market. A busy street near the hotel, window is not preferable,so you can hear noise during sleeping. Not bad for the price. Like a motel, not hotel.

decent location

large room, cable tv, jacuzzi bath
the hotel was in a decent location, but staff spoke almost no english, so it was difficult to get assistance when needed. our room was on the sixth floor, but there were no locks on the windows, so we were worried about the safety of our children, because it was easy for them to open and lean out the windows. the room was very hot, but the staff refused to reduce the heat or allow use of the air conditioner, so the only way to cool the room was to keep the windows open. the room had a computer with free internet and several selections for movies. the bed was hard, but large.

Convenient location but not for family travelers

Convenient for local food and many pubs and restaurants on the same street
Not expensive hotel and convenient to local food and pubs. Clean rooms but a bit small. Area is for those who are looking for late night pubs

Nice Place in a busy neighborhood

great bbq right down the street
yeah, this is a love hotel, but it's still pretty good for travellers. nice flat screen tv on the wall, a few free drinks, and a nice big bathroom. the mattress was really firm, which is good if you like that. the neighborhood is pretty busy well into the night, so i would suggest asking for a high floor.
