Isolated location, mosquito & midge infested

Staff are lovely; rooms are very clean; beds are comfy; showers are great; service is great.

Travelled with a friend ... our room was down the very back (8205) ... Mosquitos and midges everywhere. No ATM facilities at resort, so you have to pay 800 BAHT each way for a long tail boat to Tonsai Village to get cash out. I guess it's the resort's way of making sure you eat on-site. Resort will only give you one room key - we were 2 single friends staying in twin share room - 1 key was a pain. Dining options are expensive at the resort. Ideal for couples who don't want to do anything. Certainly not a destination for singles - no nightlife. Topless sun baking is not allowed at this resort - even on the beach. Spa was very expensive. Communication and understanding was often difficult when ordering meals - ask to see food if you are unsure what the dish is before you order.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip: Go snorkelling, visit monkey beach, stay closer to Tonsai Village

Great resort but far away from main phi phi island

Quiet, amazing views, big beautiful rooms

The resort was great and they were very accommodating of a surprise birthday dessert and song at the restaurant. Pool and beach excellent. Staff friendly but maybe not as attentive as at other places. Only negative is it is a fairly long boat ride away from main phi phi nightlife and restaurants etc - vey secluded. Good if that is what you're after but I like staying closer to the action on phi phi with the great restaurants, bars and night life
Nightlife Tip: Resort is far from main phi phi area so hard to get there or get home for a night out in main town

Secluded tropical resort

Quiet, great pool, wonderful bongalows
8.7
I came here for a wedding and the resort is perfect for it...quiet, private, on a romantic island. I'm not a fan of secluded resorts in general -- I like more food an entertainment options and the food here was average at best. Still, the bungalows were luxurious, the pool superb and the beach gorgeous. Just realize you need to take a boat to get to anything other than the few third-party shops and food stands behind the hotel.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip: take a speedboat to tonsai for more of a spring-break experience, but phi phi island is really "pg" island as far as thailand goes.

Very relaxing and quiet but no wifi in most rooms.

Very polite staff

For a honeymoon or relaxing getaway this is a great hotel. Unfortunately for singles having to take a long boat ride to any reasonable night life is a bit if a hassle.
Travel tip: Stay here for relaxing honeymoon settings. But there are much better options for people looking for happening night life.

Great Resort

Amazing Location
7.7
Very nice rooms and beautiful location. On arrival kept u in the reception and kept repeating the same info. Was annoying seeing as we wanted to go to our room. Rooms were very nice. No cash point, very poor. When you ran out of cash you had to stay in the hotel bill everything to your room then pay by card at the end. Everything was expensive as well.
Travel tip: Take cash and eat outside much cheaper.

Amazing location, expensive food and drink

The beach
6.3
The beach and pool were beautiful, perfect to relax. So quiet, tranquil - paradise! Everything was so well kept and the staff were all friendly. Breakfast was amazing! However, the hotel is very isolated and so in the evening you are stuck. The restuarant was a bit souless and dull. The food was awful given the price and the drinks expensive. A bit disappointing really we ended up living off nuts! There is a little village behind the hotel selling cheaper drinks and it's a bit more fun. You can also get cheap trips from here as the hotel charges a lot. From the village you can walk to the next bay where there are a few more resturants etc but it is scary walking back as it is pitch black...! Also, check in took an hour, it was crazy and slightly ruined our first impressions. A great place to stay if you want total relexation and isolation. Very beautiful. However, we were looking for a little bit more fun and good food which sadly we did not get.

Nice Houses near the beach. Good service !!

Lovely resort with private beach

We had a very nice stay for 4 nights. Resort is more for couples and honeymooners than friends. Restaurants in evening quiet atmosphere. Good food. Excursions offered by hotel expensive. Take a Long tail boat and make your own private tour. Small village just outside resort nice to visit for, less expensive food, spa' s and a relaxed stay. You can book boat trips much cheaper. There is a small path to Ton Sai bay. Nice to do with good shoes. 1,5 hour walk. For a few days a very nice resort on excellent location.

Awful Service, Awful Treatment, Awful Hotel

Decent rooms and setting
3.3
This hotel is on a beautiful island and the bungalow style rooms are nice. Those are the only kind words I have for them. The staff is terrible, treats guests like trash and is very stressful to deal with. This falls well short of expectations and spoils the lovely setting. First, avoid swimming on their beach. Their longtail boats drive like maniacs right up to the shore. I was nearly chopped up by a propeller. A designated swim area is badly needed. Second, getting to the resort is logistically difficult and expensive. This is to be expected of an island which has no airport. However, this resort places all of the burdens of this on the guest. It is expensive and inconvenient to get to. One would think that a resort of this size would have a better program. Further, the hotel flat out did not respond to e-mail questions regarding transport. Third, the staff is awful. We felt this way, and several others we met on the way off the island felt the same way. The first issue is language. The staff does not speak English. None of them. I realize that when traveling to a foreign country, one should not expect English to be understood everywhere. No one expects the maids and porters to be fluent, but a major hotel should have at least some front-end staff capable of going beyond point-and-nod English. This one does not. To make matters worse, they have a severe attitude problem when you do not understand their very broken English. Further, perhaps because of the language barrier, the staff consistently says things are possible/available, only to disappoint later. We felt lied to, as did other guests. Fourth, they gouge. The resort has you captive and they charge like it. Our splurge dinner at the Four Seasons Bangkok cost half what Outrigger charges for a basic Thai meal. Expect to spend $125 a meal per couple, $25 for drinks. Fifth, the resort has inadequate mosquito control and there is no internet in the rooms.
Travel tip: Stay somewhere else.

Paradise

Friendly staff and an amazing beach
9.3
Phi Phi resort offered excellent service with plenty of staff on hand at all hours. The rooms were exceptional in presentation and design offering a massive bed as standard. The ensuite was spotless and oozed luxury in all aspects. The rooms were extremly spacious and were well maintained. Phi Phi island is a paradise with scenic beaches to enjoy, resturants that offer al fresco dining and meals cooked on your own rooms balcony. The food services available were truely limitless and with resonable prices. I cannot think of any negative things to say about this resort. Sometimes it was necessary to pinch yourself to ensure you werent dreaming - it was THAT good. Counting down the days until the next time!

A wonderful resort for a peaceful vacation

location, well maintained property
8.3
Had a great time with my wife during our recent visit to phi phi islands. The resort has a great location if one wants a vacation far away from hustle and bustle. No commercial area is easily accessible so one is confined to the resort. but the resort offers a range of options for nearby sightseeing. It is overpriced for food though.
Restaurant Tip: The village behind the resort offers excellent eating options.
