chill out place, relax

Nice staff, very helpfull

It was okey, if you want to try on live simple it´s a nice place. You only has electisity and wifi from 18am to 6pm. Take out money befor cause there is no ATM near. You need to take a longtailboat to the city for shopping. The hotell nextdoor has good food and massage at the beach.

quiet but dirty place

quiet location near the beach
3.7
Except the location (one of the most quiet beach of Phi phi) there is nothing to recommend here. The bungalow was quite clean inside but very dirty outside. After three days they partially collected the garbage into small heaps which were the burned there making the air unbreathable. There was no water inside the rooms (no toilet, no shower) during most of the time, and when we complained, the (unfirendly) manager said there were too many tourists, and didn't try to find a solution.. So we had to use the public toilets of the next hotel.. The electricity is only available 10h / day, during the night. When the electricity stops, the air conditionning or fan stops, and the room quickly becomes too hot to stay inside. The breakfast is included but very few people tried to eat these scrambled eggs into dirty plates. the rest of the staff seem to be nice but they don't speak english. We have spend 3 weeks visiting Thailand from north to south, we visited 15 hotels, and this was the most expensive and the only one that we would not recommend.

Worst hotel experience ever

Solitude, snorkling and the hotel next door
2.3
Worst ever! No one in the staff spoke English. All staff but the "boss" were under aged. Electricity came and went (should have been on between 18-08 but it wasn't). No water in drains, toilet or shower at some times, which made bugs crawl up through the drains. A lot of bugs everywhere, which is weird since the hotel next door had none. The staff was very rude and not helpful at all. You have to take a taxi boat (1000 baht) to and from hotel if you wanted to go anywhere. We skipped our last two nights here due to frustration.

I was not expecting

I have been at Phi Phi Island at the best season therefore all the hotels & hostels were over booking. I was checking by agoda and I booked this hotel on it but hotel was not like at the photos. there is not any facilities as you expecting for your holiday. I could not stayed at the hotel therefore my booking has been no show (75USD) I have been stayed at the beach as it was much better. I really enjoyed with local peoples till the morning. I would like to suggest you to fist of all check the hotel and then book it. Do not worry about the availability because this hotel is available forever. I could not find any place expect this one.

Disgusting place surrounded by garbage

Nothing

This had to be the poorest excuse for a "hotel" I have ever seen. It started with a 40 min boat ride away from the main part of phi phi which wasn't cheap. Once there, the hotel (which I say loosely) was run down and garbage was everywhere. After a dangerous, steep climb to our room, we found floor boards that weren't sealed so all the bugs could get thru, a horrible stench of garbage, and a toilet that didn't work with sewage backing up on our bathroom floor. Needless to say we left and got a hotel on long beach. I strongly discourage anyone from visiting this hell hotel

nice for a relaxed break

good views, quiet, very helpful staff, nice rooms
8.3
if your looking for a relaxed stay to get away from things this really is the place for you, hotel staff were very very helpful and friendly and the hotel had all the basics you would need for a quiet stay away. only restriciton is the fact that you need to get long tail boats to get back to the nightlife and main port and outside of the normal transfer times (2 per day) this can be costly.... hotel also offer day trips which are reasonably priced.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip: good for couples

Beautiful place but away from the fun

Great view
4.3
We booked Phi phi power beach resort online not realising just how difficult it was to get there from the main beach. Although taxi boats were easy to come by its was a journey of 20-40 minutes depending on whether the motor broke down (yes that happens) or not. We came to the island hoping to join the party scene however this all took place on the main beach. To get back after 9 is especially difficult because boat drivers try to charge you about 10 times the amount. The resort itself is basic. My friend and I were way to hot with just a fan. Some huts are also located up a steep hill which is not fun in the heat or anytime really. Our bathroom was not the greatest. Our toilet leaked onto our floor which also took a while to dry from the shower. We also had cockroaches come visit. We persisted with the room and location but agreed not to stay there again. And I can assure you we are not fussy. If you don't mind the journey, Relax beach resort was on the same beach and had good affordable food and what seemed like nicer accommodation.
Nightlife Tip: If looking to be apart of the action, close to the nightlife, markets and restaurants make sure you stay on the main part of the island!

Good snorkelling location but overpriced

Excellent snorkelling off the beach, nice treehouse feel room on stilts on the hillside
6
powerbeach is situated on a small strip of sand edged by rocks, with excellent snorkelling just offshore. the adjacent sand at relax bay resort is a bit nicer and you can easily walk across there. the room was a wooden bungalow on stilts, with a 'sea view'. this means that it was many steep, badly constructed steps up the hillside to get to it. this wasn't really a problem but with some rain it might be a bit slippery and dangerous traversing the long way up on the many narrow and uneven steps, and for someone older or a bit unsure on their feet it is less than ideal. room was clean and airy. no internet in the rooms but the eating area had pretty good and reliable free wi-fi. the included breakfast was ok - typical for most thai 'resorts' with toast and jam, very sweet fake 'juice', tea/coffee and some rice-based dish. food at the restaurant was alright (better next door at relax bay). the staff gave a very friendly and cheery welcome. however there were several misunderstandings, including them saying as well as having a poster for a 'free' shuttle to town with their longtail every day which turns out to actually cost 200b each. they also wouldn't accept that we had already paid online with agoda and tried to make us pay again before we left, only ceasing when i logged onto my online bank to show them the charge to my credit card. overall was ok but was overpriced, although everything is more expensive on the east coast of phi phi than on the main beaches.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip: Great snorkelling on the reef just offshore and further south down the coast. We brought our own masks - I'm not sure if they rent them from Power Beach as I never saw any or any signs but they definitely had them at Relax Bay next door. You can stay at Power Beach to save money and then go and eat/drink at the more expensive Relax Bay next door - they have good food and excellent cocktails.

Great view and nice experience

Just the view

It was okay. Still needs some development. Rooms should have intercom facilities as if you want anything you have to go down to the reception and going down and climbing up back again those so called stairs is a big problem. I'll say it is a 2* accommodation.carry mosquito repellant with you
