Probably the best budget hotel in Jaffna

Staff were helpful, the room was clean and the towels are 5* white thick fluffy luxurious ones
Overall a good value budget option. The dining area was a brightly lit soul less place but this seems to apply to a lot of restaurants in the city anyway. The breakfast was very nice consisting of an omelet toast and jam. Some bits of the hotel look scruffy like the first floor once you reach the top of a very nice staircase you then encounter a scruffy loose carpet, and a table with an iron on it. Hotel serves beer but the bar is a no go as it has been taken over by locals who drink heavily in there and we were advised not to go in by the staff. No idea where the sun terrace with a view of the coast is as it's not near the coast so I can only think that it's the roof of the hotel!

very basic hotel

budget hotel, Location is good, staff very friendly and helpful
Three adult members of my family stayed at this hotel for four nights in Jan 2015.It served our purpose because we needed the hotel to sleep in the nights and we were fully occupied during day time outside hotel and also the location suited us well. One of the cheapest hotel you can get in Jaffna but that does not mean that it is good value for your money you pay. Like all other hotels in Srilanka is over priced compared to the other hotels we have stayed in other parts of the world. Mind you we stayed in the 'luxury' rooms. There is no question about daily linen changing or room cleaning unless you demand for it. You may find the same person who cleaned your room toilet will be serving your meals downstairs later on. Majority of the staff including the managers are untrained and unskilled in their jobs, but all are hard working and wants to satisfy the customers. If I visit Jaffna again I probably will stay at this hotel again just because I originated from Jaffna several decades ago and I believe that this hotel and other hotels in Jaffna will eventually will rise up to the international standards. My best wishes for this hotel survive and flourish in future.

Great City - Hotel needs some work

Bar being established at rear of hotel
Rocked up late, very busy with conference. Tired hungry. Staff not very good english. Put on 3rd of 4 floors. Just recently finished, pretty poor workmanship. Could not get WiFi and staff couldn't help us. Went out to bar out back which is just being set up. Staff great here and shocked by our presence, went out of there way to make us comfortable. City is just coming out of pretty tough times. Second night were moved to 2nd floor which was a lot better. Had someone there that sorted Wifi out. Lovely people but in this area they are well behind rest of Sri Lanka in all areas. But thats also what made the efforts to get there well worth it. Don;t miss Jaffna if you have time(particularly walk around residential areas to see the great number of houses.mansions abandoned - eerie). In a few years its going to be a great tourist destination which may be bad. Hotel worst we stayed at in Sri Lanka and definitely not best in Jaffna, found a couple of others close by that were excellent - owners pretty switched on. And its exciting times for Jaffna. But would not recommend you stay here if you like comfortable and clean rooms - but it will improve no doubt.

Good location poor infrastructure

Location, decent food
It was not a pleasant stay. The hotel has no restuarant. Wash room was clean but No hot water in the wash room, rooms are very small, rooms stinks, followed up many times to get the house keeping done. The food was ok but service time was too much. I guess too much for the price they are charging.

Mixed feelings about this hotel

Good sized cleaan room with a comfortable bed, nice bathroom and satellite TV. Friendly young boy at reception was very helpful. Breakfast was good.
Pleased to say that the room was the best thing about this hotel. It was fairly large, clean and comfortable with a good bathroom. Sliding glass doors opened out onto a balcony which was not private but no one else was around. The slimline TV had a good range of satellite channels including several in English. The wi fi signal was a disappointment and internet connection too slow to be any good. The staff were a mixed bag of people including an elderly incompetent manager, friendly waiters who were extremely slow to bring things and a helpful young boy at reception called Kadjan who was the best of the lot. The location is not great and little in the way of restaurants etc nearby. Town centre is a trishaw ride away. Worst of all, loud music coming from a shop near the hotel starts up at 5.30am Had a comfortable stay here but wouldn`t choose to come to this hotel next time.
