neat, clean, friendly staff, comfortable stay

Location, location, location
Comfortable, room was neat and clean, good drinks and good food . Very friendly and helpful staff makes it very welcoming and warm and made all the difference to the stay in the hotel. Having said that few touch ups maybe needed - the curtains needed to be changed as they were faded because of direct sunlight. The room needed a bit warmth in the sense it was very bare, maybe a few more local flavour paintings or wall hangings, mats or durries on the floor etc would make it a more welcoming, warm room after a long journey. The lamps in the room were old, faded and broken. All I am trying to say is it needs a bit touching up that would make it to the level of perhaps a good three star hotel. This is not a critical comment on the place but suggestions to make it more vibrant, welcoming, warm stay without spending huge amounts.

Staff very helpful

Location, Staff, Comfortable
Lets get the worst part out of the way. The hotel is very close to bar street so there is lots of noise until late hours. I don't fault the hotel for this but it is something to be aware of. Having said that my experience at the Purple Mangosteen was a good one. The hotel is very small with only a few rooms, but the room was nice for the price and location. The staff was very, very helpful. I first left my tripod on the tuk tuk from the airport and they were nice enough to take messages and communicate with the driver for me. I also lost my iPhone while there, and they offered to help with that as well. The hotel is a bit hard to find at first but once you figure out the orientation to Pub Street it is easy to find. There is a restaurant in the lobby (I didn't eat there) and it is very close to all kinds of other restaurants which is also very convenient. I would stay here again.

Great but noise from neighbouring bars pulsate

Great interior design, comfy beds, close location
It is located in Alley West which cuts through Pub Street and is really close to the night market. If you want location that's in the heart of town, this is it. However the downside is that you can hear the music and bass pumping well into 4am. Had difficulty sleeping. The place is great in terms of design and concept- modern, clean rooms, comfy sheets and bed, shampoo and soap provided. Some rooms were dark though (standard single room) only had a few general lighting bulbs and lamps so it's quite dark in the evenings, but the other rooms (upgraded the next evening) had better general lighting. The staff was nice although I felt $10 charge for 3 hours tuktuk service through town with a few stops only was a bit much.

Good hotel in a Bad location

cleanliness, good wifi connection, comfy bed
the hotel is pretty and the room was quaint and cozy with good wifi connection, clean bedding and towels but the location is bad, it's right in the middle of pub street and located behind a bar so it's extremely noisy between 9pm - midnight when there's live music and they pump up the volume - don't expect to sleep if you're noise sensitive. it would've been a perfect hotel if 1) there was no loud noise from the neighboring bars or 2) slightly 3 blocks away from pub street.

The best place in Siem Reap if your a tourist

Location, Great Room, Service
If your a tourist, this is a fabulous place to stay. Located in alley west, there is no traffic to contend with when leaving the hotel. Dining - every where you look there are restaurants. The hotel has one but its very small and the external ones offer about any kind of cuisine you can want. The one thing that really impressed me, the bathroom had Bath towels, hand towels and wash clothes and they were the good quality thick kind. Most hotel only offer a towel. The staff was more than helpful with anything and you don't feel like a number. The hotel only had 3-floors of room and a total of 8. Perfect. If I had to say anything negative, it would be no elevator (lift), but that didn't bother me.
