Juxtaposing east and west, the Temple of the Tooth can be found directly across the road, as can the historical, man-made Nuwarawewa Lake. Opposite the hotel though, guests will also find modern examples of Western influences with a Pizza Hut and KFC literally across the street. Exuding the aged elegance you would expect from a former Governor’s Residence, the Queen's Hotel sends patrons back to a different time with its spacious guestrooms, high ceilings, ornate staircases, and an original iron elevator. All rooms have balconies with views over the lake, mountains, or the street – handy for catching Kandy’s Perahera procession. Queen's Hotel awaits your visit.

Terrible food

Location was perfect and the staff was friendly and helpful
Our stay was good however the food at the hotel was absolutely terrible and that was all meals. And we are not the complaining types and normally eat most food.

Great hotel but....

Good ambiance , historical building, good location
This a great hotel in a great location with great staff. We had a fantastic time until a tour group arrived on our last evening and the noise just echoed around as they went to their rooms at 11pm I called reception twice and went outside my room twice myself to ask them to be quiet to no avail and we were awaken at 6pm by their tour leader banging every door and shouting breakfast at the top of her voice. All reception good do was say sorry. I great way to ruin an otherwise fantastic stay

Hotel with grand character but..

Stay was ok, and the location of the hotel is excellent. However the watch-out is the hotel was built in a diff era -building is very grand and with a lot of history. However, needs some level of modernization like a more comfortable bed, newer and cleaner carpet, etc. The potential is huge for this hotel though.

Comfort and convenient

Staff, Food and location
The rooms were large and spacious. The rooms even old and colonial style were kept in mint condition. The staff are very friendly and very accommadating. The lodation was perfect as it is in the heart of town. close to the train, bus station and the famous Kandy temple.
