Nice and peaceful hotel, with two pools

Pools, free night bus, nice breakfast
Good one night stay, they let us check in early, and sit by the pool while they were cleaning the room, the staff were nice and the free bus at night was good!

Excellent stay at the Rainforest Boutique Hotel

Friendliness, service & value for money
Very pleasant and access to transport was excellent. the hotel mode of transport, was very good and easily accessible. We were there for my son's wedding and the hotel even paid for our transport back to the airport on departure as a wedding present. They could not have been more helpful.

missed the mark

The food, and the two pools
Upon arriving at the Rainforest Hotel we were pleased to see a clean open lobby and a pool with lush vegetation around it. The staff were welcoming and friendly. Our room was in the main building above reception. The room was large and had a balcony but it was right in front of the pool so could not open the blinds due to privacy. The bedroom ceiling had mold. The bathroom smelled of mold and the shower wall was covered with mold. The first night and full day there was a heavy leak from the toilet so the bathroom floor was always wet. When we let the manager know the mold problem she said she was aware but said there were plumbing problems so there was nothing they could do. We asked to move rooms for our last three nights but had to pay a higher price for the boutique building. In the boutique building we stayed. The room and bathroom were large, comfortable bed but no windows. After another night at the hotel we noticed the phone was not working and there was no hot water. We went to the front desk and the manager said she had the issue of the water heating listed for repair already. She could not answer why she moved us to a room where we paid more when she knew there was no hot water. On a better note all the other staff members are very friendly, the breakfast buffet has a lot of variety. The shuttle in to town is a nice touch and the staff will help you book whatever excursions you want. The hotel also has two clean nice pools. Overall disappointed with the condition of the rooms we were given and one of the managers not being more accommodating.

Really ok for the Price.

The cheap price. Family rooms available. 2 nice pools. Breakfast buffet included!
We stayed 5days/3nights at Rainforest boutique hotel. It's a little ex-centered from the city but on the other hand in a quiet street - so you sleep well! We had a family room with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, 2 tv + 2 A/C so it was really spacious with our teens. Staff is nice. They can help book tuk-tuk or taxis, otherwise you will find plenty just by walking to the main street (the railway station is not far...) The hotel is quite old and starts to show age. It could be a really nice place if renovated. Oh and there is no hooks/hangers anywhere so you don't know where to put towels, swimsuits etc!! Small thing buy annoying after some time when you are 4 people in a room!! Otherwise it is clean. The breakfast is ok. Not the best food but a large choice of Asian and Western so everyone can find something to eat!! Once again the price is really cheap so I totally recommend the place.

Was not satisfied

Parking available, two pools to choose from and a reasonable breakfast
This hotel is in need of some serious upgrading. It is very old and run down. Hotel staff looked rather nervous and not particularly friendly. The room was small to say the least and I was shocked to see an old school square tv, as these days widescreen in such a hotel should be standard. When I first went in the room, there were no pillow cases or towels. We had to remind reception three times about it and about an hour and a half later we finally received them. The bathroom was okay but in some areas the work looked like it was done by a drunk handyman. The room walls must be wafer thin because you can hear the person showering next door. In fact the sound of water (not the relaxing water sound) goes on throughout the night from the strange plumbing system the hotel seems to have. Breakfast was edible, but nothing special or memorable for my taste buds to get excited about. There are two pools, although nothing really available for children, apart from the puddle sized water area beside one of the bigger pools. The pool I swam in seemed quite dirty and there were very few shaded areas. The 'massage water jets' in the pool were quite cool however. Save yourself the hassle and trust me- this place is not all it makes out to be and does not live up to its name. There is no rainforest and I didn't see anything boutique about this place!

Not what we expected

nice pools friendly staff
We stayed in the new wing which seemed rather tired already, the room was not bad, but after spending time at U Sukhumvit in Bangkok maybe should have booked the chang mai u hotel. Really the hotel was not awful but not what we expected.
Daniel D. Couples Australia, April 20, 2015
It's OK

Pools, Restraunt, Ambience
A little dated, staff needs more English A ways out of the main area so transport is required
Thomas O. Couples United Kingdom, March 24, 2015
One night only

One stop shop
I stayed here as we had a power cut in the condo we live in, we chose it because it's cheap and close. The rooms were clean and it had a nice pool which we didn't use but for anyone traveling I would recommend staying closer to town. The hotel is close to the train station which is a bonus

Great staff, good value for money

very helpful staff speaking perfect English, great breakfast, 2 pools
This was the best hotel of our vacation in Thailand - very helpful staff, tasty buffet breakfast, 2 nice swimming pools. It is not in the centre, but not far from it. Perfect if you have a scooter. Also it's close to a train station, which is perfect when you arrive at 4 AM like us. They kindly let us check in at this early time. I would stay again when in Chiang Mai.
Roland T. Couples Singapore, March 8, 2015

Daily breakfast spread is good. Staff were very helpful and accommodating. The restaurant Golden is reasonably price
