Raming Lodge Hotel is a particular favorite with travelers looking to enjoy the nightlife and bargain hunting in downtown Chiang Mai, as it is only a five-minute stroll from the Night Bazaar and a few minutes’ walk from a host of restaurants, bars, night clubs, and massage parlors. The Thapae Gate and a few temples nearby are also worth paying a visit. The Raming Lodge is a relatively new hotel and all rooms are clean, spacious, and stylishly decorated. Great location!

Friendly staff, good breakfast, & great location!
The front entrance of the hotel was a little hard to find, but located in an area that's walkable to Night Market/Night Plaza & Tha Phae Gate. Staff was friendly, room was clean, & their free breakfast was good. Only con is the noise from the bars next door and street, but location is everything right? People are allowed to smoke on balcony and outside their rooms. The price of the hotel is affordable, so don't book this place thinking its an oasis/spa. It's a good place to stay that's near all of the action.

Lively times at the Raming Lodge

breakfast, lobby, location did I menti
We arrived on the coldest/stormiest night in 15 years! We went for a very brisk walk while waiting for the room to be readied. Room was large, good lighting and large bathroom. Hotel is in a good location between the night market and old town. Street crossings are definitely intense - be nimble. Breakfast was superb - lovely omelets to order, coconut pancakes (yummy without syrup even), yogurt, fresh fruit and great muffins and COFFEE, woohoo. Yes, they have other stuff too, but these were my personal favorites. We had a most unique experience at 1 am which was handled very professionally by hotel staff! On the second night, we were woken up by stupendous crashing sounds and a bouncing, heavy teak bed. Groggy and befuddled we turned on the lights expecting an earthquake (we're from California after all) or intruders - nothing out of the ordinary to be seen. This happened again -seriously - perhaps a poltergeist? Called the front desk and after several more occurrences discovered that the tile under the bed was buckling and expanding enough to lift the bed which then smashed back down to the floor. Apparently the unseasonable weather was responsible for the "erupting tile" and they had us in a new room right away.

Great Place to Stay.

Friendly/Helpful Staff, Excellent Value
I have stayed at a number hotels for work in Chaing Mai and I was very impressed with the staff who were always friendly and helpful. It was an excellent hotel for the money. My on complaint would be the limited inside seating because I had to eat my breakfast outside a number of times when it was very cold.

Fair to Price

Pleasant. Breakfast below average. Long waiting time to check in - one hour late compared to hotel promise.
