Nice location with a kind host

Very close to the Termini Terminal and a subway station
I stayed two days at this hotel where the staff fully supported our planning a city tour. Clean and comfortable room. I really enjoyed a traditional market which runs every early morning just in front of a hotel.

Close to everything

It is very close to Termini Railway Station.
The pictures on its website are better than in real life (that's usual everywhere). The bathroom was a bit mouldy in the corners. The room is very simple (only for sleeping). The assistant sat just by our door, so it was a bit noisy when somebody arrived in the morning (we could hear everything). The room is very close to Termini Station and Piazza della Republica. The breakfast is enough (croissant and coffee in a bar near to the room).

Not a hotel - more of a student hostel

No pros
Garden Rome did not meet our expectations to any level. Firstly it should not even be classified as a hotel - it is merely just 3 rooms on the ground floor of a building that a bunch of Chinese students rent out. The rooms itself were nothing like how they were advertised - a couple of lights were out of order, giving the room a dull and gloomy look, there is no room service of any kind (we had to use our towels for 3 days, and make our own bed every day). Also there is no real breakfast as such - breakfast involves walking 5 min to a cafe on another street where you redeem ONLY ONE croissant and ONE cup of coffee - anything more tan 1 croissant and 1 coffee has to be paid for. The room is situated directly above a nightclub so it is really noisy at night when loud music is played. I would not recommend this place to anyone - it is a scam!
Hotel Feature Tip: If you are looking for a decent room with decent service and facilities this place is not for you!

Affittacamere Garden Rome

We liked that the hotel was near Termini and the fact that the citizens of Rome lived in the street
it seemed to be a private flat where two rooms were rented out so that the owners could finance the purchase of the flat. the room was ok, clean and with a nice bathroom (very narrow). you get tickets to a nearby coffee shop were you get one roll of bread/cocky and coffee/tea as breakfast. every morning you wake up with a street market outside. they close down at 13 hours and the street is afterwards swept of the debris. it served our purpose for the stay and the rent was affordable.

Only if you really don't have another option

Close to the train station and pretty cheap
Probably the worst hotel I have ever stayed in Rome. First of all, this is not a hotel. Affitacamere means "rooms to rent". Unfortunately, at the moment of the reservation the word "affitacamere" wasn't mentioned. The room has a decent bad, a satellite tv (with not remote), air conditioned, a refrigerator, and a bathroom. Sounds great, isn't it? The problem is that everything is in very poor condition and dirty. The shower is 60cm X 60 cm large so, I don't see how you could use it. The door handle was completely broken.
