Dream place

the location, the design of the Hotel and rooms, the safety
Amazing nice and romantic, especially to be so close to the castle.

Good location, strange hours.

Location close to La Cite, quiet area, hot receptionist
I arrived a little after 8:00 PM, finding the front door locked. Luckily a staff member saw me and let me in. It could have been problematic otherwise. The next day, after my tour of La Cite, I found that they have strange reception hours. They close at midday and don't open until 3:00 PM. They lock the front door and draw a curtain across the inside of it. So if you want to go to your room to get something, you have to go away and come back later. So I went into town for a meal. But being a marathon runner and a habitually fast walker I still returned too early!

Spacious room with castle view

Close proximity to the castle, clean and spacious room, strong wifi in room
Receptionist was friendly and could speak English. Room was big and spacious but we didn't get to use the kitchenette 'cos there is no supermart or minimart in the vicinity. If you intend to cook or dine in, you may want to buy your stuff first before driving in. Area around the hotel is basically very quiet with no shops at all. All the dining options are inside the castle which is a few mins walk from the hotel and you have to navigate up cobblestone slopes to reach the castle. If mobility is a problem, you may want to drive and park at the nearby carpark to save you walking up the slopes. We didn't have hot water to bath and reception was closed. It was only the next morning that the receptionist arranged for us to use the bathroom in another room with hot water. So you may want to test the water heater upon check-in. We couldn't use the coffee maker too 'cos it was all mouldy inside the filter. Otherwise, the room is generally clean and comfortable with strong wifi in the room. We had castle room from our room but we noticed not all room shave it. If you want that, you should probably state it during booking. Free off street parking is available just outside the hotel.

Poor value for money

Location; nothing else
This hotel/apartment was very poor value for money. The apartment was dark and poorly finished (the kitchen in particular) and was an uncomfortable place to spend a few nights. The staff were not particularly helpful. We were in need of a doctor upon arrival and instead of recommending one we where shown a phone book and told "pick one". Not what I would expect from any reasonable hotel.

Basic, clean room in Very good location

Large room, kitchenette, view of castle from window
The girl at reception was lovely. Check in was easy and she gave us some good tourist advise about visiting the castle. Had to pay for parking because there weren't any spots on the street available when we arrived. We used the kitchenette, but were surprised that there wasn't any cleaning equipment to use. Had to ask the girl at reception for detergent, cloth and tea towel. She opened up the restaurant to get some for us. Some of the plates were dirty - obviously previous tennants hadn't bothered chasing up cleaning gear. Air conditioning wasn't working, but we were out during the day and the night time temperatures were very pleasant with a window open looking up to the castle in lights.

Overall great experience

friendly, helpful service; close to Cité; great breakfast buffet (not free though)
the staff was quite helpful and ordered us taxis when we asked for them. they spoke both french and english. the hotel is situated right outside the cité, which is great, but about a twenty-five minute walk from the train station (hence the taxis). the front desk closes at 10 pm, so i would suggest arriving prior to then (they do have a system set up so you can still get into your room, but it's more complicated). the room was great, very clean. apartment-style, so there was a kitchenette with living room area, as well as a bedroom, wc, and shower room. the shower head did not attach to anything so you had to hold it, which isn't a big deal, but if that's going to be difficult for you, i'd call and see if that was unique to our room or if all the showers are like that.
