Beautiful place

Ambience, Smiling staffs and well decorated room
It was a boutique hotel- well equipped with the right dressing instruments such as hair dryer and even straightener. The cushions were well placed however, it will be good to place less cushions on the bed as it took up more than enough space required for display. We enjoyed our shower time a lot because of the good smelling shower gel and shampoo. The toilet was a really wonderful experience with cotton wool and glasses, bar soaps, etc. The staffs cleaned up our room very well every day without fail. We loved the ambiance at the dining area too. However, it will be good if the candles are shorter as I almost burnt the menu I held as I was ordering. Also, there is a weird smell as I walk down the staircase. I think something can be done..Overall, my partner and I had a pleasant stay.

Great hotel but very noisy through the night.

Food great value for money, staff very friendly, nice toiletries
This is the 3rd time we have stayed here but I don't think we will stay again.we stayed for 4nights and never got one nights sleep.the noise from outside is horrendous .we only ever stayed for one night before and didn't find it too bad .i understand this is a city centre hotel but we have stayed in many and never had the noise.also there was no milk for tea and coffee and no more tea and coffee left after the first day.you could contact reception for this but they were very busy all the time.

smart boutique hotel run by young staff. Noisy.

Location, location, location
We will go again. Breakfast was poor with 'snotty' eggs and stuff kept warm for too long. Lovely rooms! No milk for early morning tea. Very noisy with window open on hot night and no air conditioning.

Close to city, quiet, friendly staff
I was pleasantly surprised by Rick's Hotel. I was looking for an affordable hotel near the city (not an easy feat!) that was clean and safe. Rick's hotel fit the bill perfectly; the staff were very friendly and always willing to help. The room was beautiful and included a TV, hair dryer, hair straightener and an ipod (with dock) that you could use to play music. I have never seen this feature in a hotel before and thought it was a wonderful idea. The hotel was also very quiet and was very close to the city. Prices Street, Edinburgh Castle and the National Gallery are only a few of the attractions that were only a short walk away. It was also very close to Waverley train station, which was perfect as it took the stress out of finding the hotel and dealing with taxis. Overall I was very pleased with this hotel and would recommend it to anyone!
