Thailand dream
Rimlay Villas is exactly what i had always pictured Thailand to be. There are currently 14 small villas ,about 180sf each, with private baths, A/C, fans & fridge. Each villas has a veranda, wjere i spent many hours watching the longtail boats at mooring and at work. Such a classic Thai image! The ocean in this area is tidal, so swimming is best at high tide, though possible always. We brought water shoes, which made ocean swimming more comfortable, though not necessary. The water is warm and has no surf and is shallow quite a way out so really great for kids also. At low tide there were always local kids walking out to look for shells and other valuable finds. There is a small restaurant/bar with a small but delicious traditional Thai menu (though you can get a burger and fries if youuou need a break). Breakfast is included, always with fresh fruit and strong Thai coffee. The staff, particularly Towan, is wonderful. Their first concern is your comfort and experience. pretty much anything you ask for they will go out of their way to accommodate - be it a BBQ on the beach, a massage in the room, or a ride to Ao Nang. They have 2 free shuttle into Ao Nang twice a day and then you find you're own ride back, about 200 bhat. Though you can catch a "city bus" (basically a bigger tuk tuk) outside the villas to town for about 20 bhat, but good luck finding one back. It's about a 10 minute ride to the downtown part of Ao Nang where there are countless restaurants, bars, hotels, massage & souvenir shops. We enjoyed visiting there bit loved getting back to our "slice of heaven" each day. The town of Ao Nammao is a 5 restaurants from the hotel and has all the basics - pharmacy, 7/11, sidewalk food stands/restaurants. We loved this place and extended our stay from 2 to 6 days. I already have visions of bringing family and friends for extended vacations. An FYI - the property changed hands during our stay and the new owners have plans for expansion. There is pl

Fantastic
Our 4 day stay at Rimlay Villa was super. We read many good things about this place and all are true. The owner and staff are great and the location on the beach is superb and offers privacy and rest. The idea behind concept and setup is great and the Rimlay Villa offered all we needed. We were lucky with the pool and sea view and felt from the first moment very comfortable. Breakfast and food in the restaurant are great and the garden offers you both sunny and shaded places. The sun beds are relative new and can be used to sit and lay down. If we plan a new stay near Krabi we will book this location again.

Wouldn't go anywhere else!
The location is beautiful away from the crowds but just ten minutes by boat from Railay. The grounds are immaculate, and the staff are hard working and extremley nice. The food is great.
This was our second stay at Rimlay Villas. We prefer a clean, comfortable, affordable place to an overpriced, crowded, luxury hotel. The staff and location are big selling points. The food is better than any restaurant we have tried. They have a nice courtesy breakfast and twice day van to Aonang. The rooms are comfortable and are kept very clean. The grounds are immaculate. They have a nice pool that is shaded much of the late afternoon. They are able to arrange for a local van to pick up from Krabi airport for 800 Baht. All these things made our week long stay fantastic. It is a few minutes down the beach to the Ao Na Mao Pier where long tail boats leave on the half hour for Railay Beach. 100 Baht per person. It is a quick 10 minute ride. We were glad to be able to have our day on the popular Phra Nang beach and return to our quiet place and enjoy the pool and the great food they have at the restaurant. I believe Rimlay was fully booked, but we still seemed to have the place to ourselves. It is great for privacy. Really couldn't be better.

A pocket of seclusion, beauty and peace
Friendliness of staff. Peace and quiet, surroundings.
Wow!! A stay were you can relax in peace, the staff wish you to be happy, the food and drink is cooked very well, Alissa and team were superb answered our every question and was always on hand to help and give directions. A hotel so close to so many beauty spots (east railay beach for one) and activities yet hidden away from crowds and hustle and bustle of life. We didn't want to leave!! A massive thanks to all the team!! We will look forward to seeing you all again ..... We will be back! A little peice of paradise

Peaceful bungalows, far from the action
View, room, staff
if youre looking for a place close to town, restaurants, bars, shopping, massage places, etc, this is not the place for you. There is some public transportation, but it's not convenient. beware: foreigners are already charged a higher fare, and the price goes up after dark, and they charge extra because it's in a remote location. Also, it's generally the last stop; took us about 1 hour to get to and from Krabi town, when it's only about a 20 minute direct ride away. The hotel does provide a free ride to Ao Nang twice a day, but you have to get back on your own. There are a few local Thai restaurants a five minute walk away, but if you want something different you have to go to Ao Nang or Krabi or Railay. The restaurant at the hotel does some nonThai food as well. The prices are comparable to some of the sit down restaurants in the bigger towns, but you can find better prices. Also, the local Thai restaurants are much cheaper if you want Thai. If you do want to go into the big towns, just make sure you plan to do several things to make it worth your while (i.e. Massage, lunch, shopping, supper all in one trip). Also, the beach is not great for swimming. It's pretty rocky, shells, coral, even saw some glass. There is a pool, but if you're wanting to get in the ocean, you do so at your own risk. That being said, we enjoyed our stay. We were fine with the aforementioned. The staff was friendly and worked really hard. We wanted and liked the peace and quiet, fewer people around. The breakfasts were very good. We would come back here if we could. It was perfect for us!

What a wonderful hidden gem
view at the ocean, lovely staff, family like atmosphere
Wow, what a stay! Rimlay villa is situated on a secluded beach off the main tourist area, but only a 10min drive to Ao Nang. Rimlay villa consists of eight double bungalows, of which 4 are facing the ocean directly in first row, a pool and a lovely restaurant. The lady, who is running the place, is very organized and very friendly although you might have a more "bossy" first impression, she is definitely welcoming and very customer oriented. She negotiated a really good price for a boat trip to Phi Phi islands and even gave us useful advice what and where to pay the national park entrance fee. We even got a free shuttle with some of the guests and hotel staff for Loy Kratong celebration in Krabi town. All staff members are so lovely and we felt like part of the family! We were even involved in the creation of the loy kratong boats, which was a special experience! We loved the silence and the more remote location despite little local shops and some other restaurants are in walking distance. We wish the owner and all staff members all the best and are looking forward to return some day. P.S. For me as a cat lover it was heaven (three cats to be pet every day :-)).
