Great hotel, needs a few improvements

View, jacuzzi, room decor
We stayed in Pao de Acucar jacuzzi suite. Let's start with the good. The view is AMAZING, the room is modern and handsome, the breakfasts were great, pool was pretty, and the front desk staff lovely and with perfect English. However, there are a few major, glaring issues that could be easily fixed by management. One - there is no sign at the door. From the outside, it looks as though the hotel is a private residence. There is only a number plate and nothing declaring it as Rio 180 Boutique Hotel. We drove around for almost an hour looking for it. Second, the design of the room was SO awkward, especially for a couple requesting a "romantic suite". The bathroom with toilet was only closed on two sides, a third side with a door that did not shut, and the fourth side was totally open to the rest of the room and the window!!! Not romantic and VERY awkward. Third, emails and phone calls are not responded to. I attempted three of each and never had an email responded or call answered. Fourth, the restaurant on site is not operable, only serves breakfast. The hotel is quite in the middle of nowhere, a drive even from main Santa Teresa, and we were stuck with only two delivery options - faux Japanese or pizza (which we went with, and got the worst pizza and service of my life, as they forgot half the order and told us it'd take an extra hour to receive.. after tipping themselves). A great hotel at a great price, but it could be so much better if those issues were fixed! It is truly beautiful and must be seen for yourself.

What an amazing view!

price, chic, amazing views of Rio
The hotel is right in the middle of nowhere, which is a problem. But beyond that, it is such a great place to stay in. The view at sunset is spectacular. At this price, you cannot get anything better in Rio. Very romantic too, good for couples.

Best views in Rio

Staff, room, view
Rio 180 Boutique hotel is located in the santa Teresa area and has amazing views of Cristo Redendor, Sugar loaf mountain and Rio in general. We booked a suite, which was recently renovated and even had a jacuzzi overlooking rio. Swimming pool area is also nice and the staff is very friendly and helpful. The hotel itself is a bit hard to find, especially when it's raining a lot of taxi drivers aren't willing to make the drive uphill. Food is also great and the views at night are even more spectacular.

Lovely view of Rio but only for single travellers

The view is amazing. You see the whole of Rio, the Sugar Loaf, Christ the redeemer, etc.
The room I stayed in had no walls between the bathroom and the actual room, so it's probably not a place two people want to share. When I was there the pool wasn't working.

180 degree view with personal service

180 degree view of Rio
Despite its location, our stay in the hotel was caught of gut. Went we arrived outside the hotel, we were little bit surprised of its location. We arrived late that night. Once we enter the hotel, Raphel young chap, the owner of the hotel came and greet us. Is like a personal service (butler service) where you only get it from 5-6 stars hotel. 8 different rooms were furbished individually. We felt like at home. Breakfast was wonderful. Again, cook on the spot, almost one to one service. Out at the balcony, the 180 degree view of RIO on a good weather. You will see for yourself. Will surely, come to stay again.
Hotel Feature Tip: 1. Do get a map from the website before you start your journey to the hotel. Taxis may not know how to go there 2. Don't expect a 5-6 stars service but do expect a very personal service 3. Don't expect hundreds of guest staying coz they have only 8 dedicated suites, which is beautifully done up. You will be surpriced

very unhelpful and commented that they had had similar problems in the past. The location of the hotel is not in a very safe part of the city. Although my room had a spectacular view it had a rather strange layout with an open plan toilet alongside the bed. Would avoid at all cost.

Just a good view

Hotel has a great view and the staffs are helpful.
Cheap rooms are too bad. (Lebnon) The other rooms are o.k(Pao de Acucar) The worst thing is location. You must pay minimum 10 dolars to beach for one way. It means the hotel is 20 dolars more expensive than a hotel in beach area. The view is perfect. The hotel staf were great and helpful. The breakfast was o.k.
