The room was not good

nice staff, good location, wifi

We had a confirmed transfer from Airport but nowone was there. Taxi instead, cost 64 reais, Colinas cost was 100 reais. We had booked from nov 3 but they did a mistake, thougt that we should come nov 4. Because of that, no transfer. The wardroom door was unable to close, the little shower hanging down didnt work. The bidé shower sprayed around. We spoked to reception about this problems but nothing was done. We stayed for 5 nights and when we checked out I thought that we should have discount. We got 25 reais! Friendly staff.

OK Hotel which is not recommended due to theft.

The location is good

Well the hotel is located centrally. Easy access to busses and the main streets near Copacobana, Not far to Ipanema beach either. The hotell is run in what looks like a regular apartment building with a gate on the outside. An elevator opperates between the floors. The hotel is clean but not wellmaneged. The room had a safety box which was broken. This resulted in the need to store some things in the reception and in the room.

The hotel is on edge between lucrative Copacabana/Ipanema area (few minutes walking) and near a favela on hill. Make sure you come via (south)west where you have just few meters walking on the edge/hill and Police is almost constantly present. Spare yourself experience to approach via other way, avoid to climb up steep stairs or even go through dark tunnel. Via west, it's OK, pleasant experience. Especially one staff member really enjoys his job, and raises guest's mood once opens mouth with big smile. Room has privacy, very spacious, balcony is tiny, but enough for quick smoke, or even getting sun laying down. Maybe because it's built on edge of hill, room surface can be flexible (milimetres) but it made me to 'learn' where is safe to step, where is not, in order not to move surface by the milimetres, causing some noise. Or humidity or st like this cause this little annoyance. Verdict: I felt safe, welcome, clean, and could sleep without disturbance, that only matters. For matter price/value ratio is better than around. Breakfast simpler (copmaring to Europe) but one of best in Rio hotels I visited.
Hotel Feature Tip: Make sure you come via (south)west where you have just few meters walking on the edge/hill and Police is almost constantly present. Spare yourself experience to approach via other way, avoid to climb up steep stairs or even go through dark tunnel.
