The hotel is tidy and overall okay, but the service
5,7
The resort was overall fine, it was clean and close enough to the beach, about 10 to 15 mins walk to the beach.
But the worst part of this hotel was the way the receptionest treats customers.
I dont know her name, but she has got bad skin and was tall.
When we gave her our used towels to exchange them with new ones, she made this very bad expression on her face and told us we should have cleaned up our towels on our own just because there was a little bit of mud on it.
And she even told us she will charge us approx. usd 30 for the dirty towels.
I totally didnt like her unproper attitude at all, she really gotta change her way of treating the customers or this resort will lose lots of future customers.

Great Hotel for Relaxation
large and equipped rooms, nice pool and relaxing surroundings
8,7
We really enjoyed our stay at Alona Northland Resort as it was clean, quiet and relaxing. They don't have their own restaurant but the rooms are provided with rice cooker with steamer and electric kettle which you can use if you need to have a quick meal. Dining isn't a problem though because the area is surrounded by a lot of restaurants serving different cuisines. We also had massage and spa services coursed through the hotel but we paid a different amount as advertised in the hotel's board (we paid more as the masseuse showed their own price list) so be sure to clarify what pricing to follow.

very comfortable, big rooms, lovely pool, fan on the balcony is great. the tours are well priced. the only down side it they have no restaurant but they seem to be new so that may come. there is a restaurant around the corner that delivers to your door and the beach is only a 5 min walk away where you find lost of restaurants. we really enjoyed our stay here.

Value for money but bring your ear plugs
new rooms, lovely gardens, fast internet
6,7
We booked our stay at Alona Northland resort around 5 months after they'd opened for bookings. We discovered when we arrived that as at May 2013 they haven't finished building the hotel yet and I'm not sure when they'll be finished. That said, we were concerned when we first arrived because it looked like a construction site on the top level but the ground & first floor rooms have been completed and the gardens and pool are all lovely. The rooms are new, which means that everything is neat and tidy, but the beds are HARD like a lot of hotels in Asia. The internet connection is fast and there's plenty of places in the garden and pool area to sit or swing in a hammock and stay connected (we had to work on this holiday so that was important). Construction noise in the morning, a smelly shower and tacky, characterless decor detract from the place but that's the price of great value. There's no breakfast and the beach is about a 5 or 10 minute walk away (shorter if you cut through one of the beach front hotels). The bar beside the pool is an extra bonus. No breakfast is a little inconvenient but there's a few eateries close by which you can buy breakfast at and the beach is so-so compared to others in the Philippines (we'd just come from Boracay so we didn't care too much). We organised our whale shark tour through reception - I would suggest ensuring that the boat used in the 5 hour return trip is not one of the older ones with loud motor - our hearing has still not recovered. Apart from that, I would definitely reccommend Alona Northland hotel. We got a cheap price, so for a nice new hotel room, nice gardens/pool and fast internet, you will be very comfortable at Alona Northland. If you're looking for a fancy resort experience, pay extra for somewhere expensive or you will be sorely disappointed.

my stay was great just what I needed quite clean helpful staff only problem I had is they had no restaurant or breakfast had to order out, only changed the towel every 2 days, bed sheets every 4 days and only had a 500 litre solar hot water system so you had a cold shower most of the time but I was willing to over look these things because I went there to relax and that exactly what I did the staff couldn't be more friendly and courtiouse they arranged tours I wanted to go on and made sure my stay was perfects
