good value.. excellent position

price and excellent positio
8.3
For the price, it was excellent value. My room was a bit dated and dusty in places with a very outdated tv. However, the staff were welcomimg and a problem i had with the bathplug not fitting(!) was sorted out quickly. i think some reviwers are rather unfair when you think that i paid £15 less than a travellodge up the road. My room was a standard double so i presume if id paid the extra that the quality would have been better. The hotel is so close to everything that it is ideal for most people. i am going back soon so will see what my next room is like!

THE WORST HOTEL I'VE STAYED IN
3
The Reception staff communication was "you need to be out by 10 a.m.". They had no need to worry on that score, had we not not been so tired after a long journey we would have left as soon as we saw the room. Dingy, furniture which was a "style" not seen since immediately after the 2nd World War, the lighting fittings resembled those one normally finds in a caravan, the curtains barely met and it appeared that there were missing hooks, the carpets had dubious stains on them, the pictures were, rather optimistically screwed to the wall by clearly visible screws, we barely slept in the uncomfortable bed but next morning had been bitten by whatever shared the bed with us, the bath fittings didn't match and there was a previous occupant's hair in the bath.

Nice stay

staff cleaniness location
8.3
Can't fault it. The location is perfect, central. The room we had was a good size with a table and chairs. It was very clean and perfectly comfortable for the price. It was nice and quiet too. The tv is a bit dated but that wasn't a priority. Bed comfortable and clean sheets. I always find that the staff are nice and very efficient at this hotel and also make check in very efficient and quick.

The bar tender is friendly. The hotel served quite a lot of elderly. I love the peaceful environment there.

great value, good location & top attractions

location, nightlife & central to everything Brighton
9.7
Very good stay which I extended from 2-8 nights due to work extension. Big rooms with en-suite & cleaned everyday. If you come by coach or train you will be better suited than to be taking a car into Brighton. £3.50 p/h outside the hotel & only for 2hrs max. You can get allday meters & the prices vary from £5 p/d to £18.75 p/d & they operate 7 days a wk. Top nightlife, food & culture are in abundance
Matthew C. Solo travelers Australia, December 28, 2013
