Convenient but quiet

Close to tourist site, quiet district, inexpensive food
Most of the 5-star hotels are divided into two types: 1) city-centre type which is close to all the cultural and historical sites, but packed with tourists and plagued by heavy traffic. 2) resort type which are mostly situated in the Cotai Strip, where you can only stay inside a shopping/entertainment complex, unless you spend 15 minutes to wait for the shuttle bus and another 15 minutes to commute to the tourist area. This Royal Hotel is unique because while it is quiet and not crowded with tourists, it is just a stone throw away from many cultural and historical establishments. For example, Tap Seac Gallery, Fire Services Museum, and Casa Garden are just 5 mins walk away. Mount Fortress, Ruins of St Paul's and 90% of the Heritage Sites are within 15 mins walk. The best thing I like about this hotel is that it is located in a somewhat residential district which still preserves the pre-Vegas Macau ambiance - inexpensive eateries, quiet street, etc. If you have young children, they might enjoy the playground just across the street. There is also a mini zoo and mini cable car ride which young children will find entertaining in a nearby park called Jardim da Flora. Back to the hotel itself, although it is not in the tip-top condition that you will find in those Cotai resort hotels, it adequately lives up to the 5-star standard. The front counter staff and the concierge is polite and helpful. The facilities are a bit old but reasonably maintained. The swimming pool is good enough for some exercise and relaxing. The paintings on the wall was a bit chipped though, but it doesn't really matter to me. In short, for a tourist who is: KEEN on cultural and historical exploration and medium budget travel, NOT keen on luxury shopping, gambling, X-games, expensive restaurants this hotel is perfect.

Very convenience,

Location, Aigner brand for shower gel and shampoo, with casino.
The location is good, convenience for going to central, with restaurant close-by. But, the bed is not big enough.

Nice, but remote

good service, clean, quiet
nice hotel and friendly effective staff, but a little bit remote. And as it is Macao: hotel casino is below standard.

Good choice to stay a bit away from Casino

Value for money, Good and reasonable service, Convenient location
Overall very good. Big improvement required on wifi speed at room. Also, better to have more shuttle from hotel to Venetian/Taipa.

Relaxing and comfortable

convenient, comfortable and quiet
The staff is really friendly and try to assist me in the shortest time. I arrived the hotel early and I manage to check in a few hours early. Luggage storage is available and free shuttle service is available every 30-35 minutes. The staff assist with clear direction. Overall is good! I will definitely recommend to my friend and will stay here again if i visit Macau! THanks a lot

Comfortable Hotel near UNESCO site

Comfortable Room, Friendly Staff and shuttle service available
It was a wonderful stay! The hotel is near the UNESCO site - Guia (just a 10 mins walk behind the hotel) The lobby is warm, cosy and smells wonderful! Only issue is the check in is only at 3pm, cant check in earlier, we just left the bags with the concierge and went exploring first Comfortable bed and nice design - they even uses Aigner Amenities Has free shuttle service available from the Macau Ferry terminal and also a 11am shuttle to the Venetian Casino in the morning. At night is a 5.30pm shuttle to the Macau Tower - check with the concierge on the shuttle timing so that you can plan your itinerary Friendly staff who was great in giving advise and direction on what to do and see in Macau Walk-able distance to Senado Square but would require the map, otherwise just take a cab Has a nice bar in the lobby with live jazz music at night Nice hotel, would stay here again!
