Nice hotel, good location

good location, nice room
The rooms are clean and offers a pretty good view at the park. And the location is also pretty good - it's about 10 minute walk from the city center and very quite, and doesn't have the annoying traffic noice the other downtown hotels have. This is the third time we stay at Hotel Royal Macau. It's perfect for the first couple of times. The third time we came during the Easter holiday. The hotel is pretty much fully booked and we think they should hire some extra temporary help during peak travelling season. The queue is pretty long during check-in and check-out.

Not the best 5-star hotel

heated swimming pool
first impression of the hotel was not great - it was surrounded by ugly residential buildings and there was constant noise coming from the construction just outside the lobby - we could hear it from the lounge! the room was modern and well furnished but a tad too small for the price paid. overall it was a comfortable night's stay with a good bathroom and decent toilettries loved the swimming pool although the attendant was quite rude to us at first and we had to escalate an issue to a manager the location is great and only 2 mins drive to Grand Lisboa. The free shuttle runs frequently and on time but its route is limited, for example: -It does not take you to Largo Senado. If you are going to see St Paul Ruins you have to walk about 20mins from the hotel or anywhere from the casino area -The shuttle takes you to Macau Tower only a few times a day The hotel shuttle service is also, strangely, one-way only so you have to figure out your own way back most of the time. We tried waiting at the drop off point to get picked up again but had no luck and really struggled with taxis during the peak hours

Nice Little hotel with Good Location

Good Location, Friendly English Speaking Staff
clean, nice room, good value for your money. location is in near city center and pretty close to major attractions. you can walk to restaurants & some attractions but walking back to the hotel could be a challenge for not the very physically active (it is on an uphill). the staff were nice & helpful, with good command of english.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip: Walk to Senado Square & around, take a taxi back.

Decent Hotel on top of hill

Clean, quiet when no china tourist.
A Ok hotel in Macau, great location if you are on sightseeing tours as it is very near all key tourist points of Macau. If you into some gambling action, it is quite a walk down hill/ up hill especially after you lost every single cent to sands! Yup transport service is provided till certain time only. but if u r some hardcore gambler, the timing will not be too suitable for you. Also usually the Q for the transport is about a mile long. Very nice and profession staff.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip: Fisherman Waft is quite interesting.

Ok hotel a 3.5 star I will say almost there

Free shuttle bus but cabs are cheap anyways
It was overall ok. Ferry terminal n surroundings are close by..the free shuttle helps but cab is cheap so no need to wait for free shuttle if u must head to hotel or points of interests. Macau is small enough to explore in 3 days 2 nights...city of dreams the tower n Venetian the church ruins n senado is worth seeing..going to china border cross waste of time...save ur money n visit Beijing or shanghai..a different feel from border cities.
Hotel Feature Tip: Free shuttle bus
