Good location, great staff.

Locatin, staff, location
I always enjoy staying at this hotel, primarily for the great staff. The hotel is in a very good convenient location for shopping and the BTS and MRT train networks. Breakfast at times caters for vegetarians ... I stayed for 3 days, and only once was there cooked food for vegetarians. Hotel does need some repairs and renovations - one of the air conditioners in my room did not work, and the window would not close.

never coming back

As we checked in I remarked that my last stay at the President Park on Sukhumvit was a disaster, as they put me in a smoking room that reeked so bad I got sick. Well, should have touched wood. I was given a room that reeked of foul smelling room spray. I swore it was to cover the smell of smoke. My husband said, maybe, he couldn't tell under the room spray. I left the windows open while we went out to eat. Came back and this time the room clearly reeked of smoke. I went to the desk manager and requested a change of room. She said it wasn't possible my room smelled of smoke since it was a non-smoking fl. I insisted. She gave me another room to try. Handed me a key card and told me to check it out. It was infinitely better smelling, so we moved. Rooms here are dark, dank and tired-looking. The shower nearly took our skin off. The phone rang at 3 am. Wakeup call. I did not ask for a wakeup call. The room was previously unoccupied so it could not have been a note left by the previous tenant. I am NEVER going back to any hotel associated with this group EVER AGAIN!!!

OLD and badly maintained

Bath with cigarette track ; mold in the shower ; the table was break in the room, the lights wasn't lightening enought. Very disappointed about this hotel and about agoda's rate for this

Royal president

Location, location , location
I always stay in this hotel when i come to Bangkok. It is central to everything i need to travel around the city, but as always, i will say yet AGAIN !, this hotel is tired, and could do with a room by room make over, the carpets in the corridors and old, worn and stained, some of the showers in the rooms are barely working, wallpaper in the rooms need replacing, woodwork needs a lick of paint, i would not give this hotel a 4 star rating, because it does not meet the requirments of a 4 star hotel, more like a 2.5 to 3 star hotel, i say that simply because it needs a complete make over, please do not get me wrong, the staff are excellent, the food is really good, i will never complain about that side of things, it's just the hotel is tired, and NEEDS a MAKEOVER !.

Under performing

The location is fine being just off Sukhamvit, and the checking and out is exemplary. The room was just OK.
Having stayed by personal choice several times over the last three years this I feel was my last time at the Royal President Hotel. The room given was in a distant building from the restaurant and pool which mention crossing a road to use. I was given a smaller room when I changed buildings with no offer of compensation for paying a higher rate through Agoda for a suite. The new room smelt musty or stale which we had to freshen up with perfume. Room service was off after 10pm. At breakfast the following morning I ate rather tasteless meals which have been repeated on all trips to the hotel. Staff were un-attentive which was a shame as they usually are. I requested extra coffee to be placed into my room which was relayed to the room-service staff via phone from the restaurant. Upon return to my room later that day the room had been mad up but there was no coffee at all in the kitchen area. Very disappointing for a hotel I had liked and one which was a good valued stay in Bangkok.

My trip to Thailand

They applogised for their mistakes.
I was suprised when I was given a room in a different premises from the main hotel building. You have to cross a busy lane to use restaurent & pool.Initially they refused to provide any room in main hotel building later when I decided to cancel my reservation suddenly they found a room with so called upgrade option! When they charged me for extra bed for my son they clearly mentioned breakfast included, Since I forced them to provide my a room in main hotel building they changed their mind and asked me to pay additional breakfast cost for extra bed !!Finally Ms Tip(Duty Manager)appologised for their mistakes.I had to wait almost three hours after seven hours journey to get into my desired room which I paid in advance.I hope Agoda will look into this matter .Thanks.
