So noisy!

Location was good. Comfortable bed.

I booked a "lake view" room, but it really should be advertised as "car park view". Day and night there was so much noise - from levels above and below, from the carpark outside... For some reason so much noise! Cleanliness needs improvement. Placing a tea cup upside down (with coffee stains still on it) back on the minibar does not a clean cup make. Placing a dirty teaspoon on top of said cup, again, does not a clean teaspoon make. I wonder what other shortcuts are being taken?

Stayed at Rydges Queenstown for a week and could not be happier. The view was incredible especially for a first time visitor to the country. Although we did not have too much communication with staff as we were busy every day everyone we dealt with was helpful and courteous, restaurant and bar staff especially. Thank you for the great stay!

Massively Overrated

Food Beer and View out the front of the hotel

The Wifi is terrible. Given that we stayed in a budget twin room, I wouldn't have paid any more than $70NZD a night. These rooms are literally the same as dorm rooms in a backpackers, right down to the noisy street behind (That was our view by the way, a dirty street) We had to request a sink plug for our bathroom, which took over an hour to come. They tried to charge me twice for our room, and then tried to add a 2.5% surcharge, despite the fact that they'd already put through a pledge on my account for the amount. The beds were tidy, but were never remade properly every night, we would have to remake them before bed. The sheets didn't even fit the bed. No Air Con, only a radiator. No Exhaust fan in the shower, so you would have to crack a window, to which people on the street can see you. Honestly, the room was clean, just seriously overpriced for whats involved. Disappointed...

BAD experience.

not good...on arrival was asked tp pay for our stay where all booking/payments were made thru agoda. explained to the receptionist who kept insisting that nothing was paid!!!luckily another receptionist was there to check and sort it out.....next, that same guy asked us to pay fora deposit as a security for the room...gave my partner credit card but he told us the card is declined.....very very stupid....why did he have to charge us $100 deposit??? can he not use the credit card as a way to secure the room just like other hotels?? anyway at the end i paid the $100 deposit in order for us to get our room......next as we arrived in the morning, we left all our luggages with them to store, then we returned at night time were the room was ready then realised all our luggages were still in their storage!!!!very bad bad service.....we had to carry all of them and walk their 10mns corridor walk, which consisted of using 2 different elevators in order to get to our room!! moreover, their internet is soooooo SLOwwwwwwwww......our advise to all of you who is reading this is to check other people reviews before you decide to book this hotel. oh last thing, dont be foul by the outside look of the hotel which is very deceiving.
